Husband and father first, lawyer, Gen X, reverence for science, reason, and sanity. Simultaneously fascinated and terrified by NatSec stuff, especially now. No person, group, tribe, religion, or government has it *all* figured out. Think for yourself.

I would say that 5-4 on the Constitutional issue of birthright citizenship is a big canary in the coal mine...but we already had Dobbs and the Presidential Immunity decisions, so nothing "should" shock me. It is truly terrifying that the vote was this close, folks. That deserves more attention.

I wish I had the capacity for being shocked by Trump, but that ended a long time ago. I do hope that our men and women in uniform remember their oaths, including but not limited to their sacred duty to not knowingly commit war crimes, regardless of what the POS POTUS orders. #NotInMyName

Curious if people here think that stuff like Dave/The American President/West Wing are good nostalgia watches now. I love them all, but can't stomach them now given what we have lost. Also, it's gonna take another generation or two before such plotlines seem benign/quaint/realistic enough again.

I don’t know what moment Chuck Schumer is made for, but it sure as shit isn’t this one.

Asked about the possibility of impeachment, Schumer says "we hope that we can have support from our Republican colleagues to put a brake on this long before it gets that far"

Just profoundly sad and depressed about my kids' future in this country. The loss of trust, soft power, the rule of law... And all of it foreseeable before the 2024 election. Not sure if I hate Trump or Trumpers more.

Utterly despicable and shameful. A father and husband, employed, waiting on his Green Card application, and [checks notes] *A VOLUNTEER FUCKING FIREFIGHTER* is deported to a country he hasn't known for over 20 years. I need a new German word for the deepest disgust. www.lohud.com/story/news/p...

He doesn't have a fucking clue what he is doing, but the *really* scary part is that, in my opinion, 80-90% of those around him (electeds and otherwise) know it, yet...here we are. No more adults in the room, folks. And 100% foreseeable.

If a Democrat wanted to break through the noise and perceived/real impotence of D "leadership" these days -- and, perhaps, set themselves up for 2028 -- they might consider bringing Pres. Zelensky as their guest tonight.
