I usually set my alarm clock for 6:30 but wake up between 4:30-6. This AM, for the first time in ages, I slept past 6:30. Miss Maude correctly ascertained that this was unusual and incorrectly ascertained that this was impermissible on Sunday. Needless to say, she made for a cute 6:40 alarm clock.

Friendly reminder that despite some conservatives’ assertion that people will come to the US to take advantage of our health care system and run up a big tab, immigrants tend to be healthier than Americans. I can confirm. Indivisible Action spends about a dime of every dollar raised on fundraising costs, which is very efficient. They are a good example of what a genuine grassroots operation looks like.

We’ve seen a lot of recent reporting on shady fundraising tactics that get Democratic consultants rich, but don’t do much to help Democratic campaigns. So let us be as clear as humanly possible: Every dollar you donate today will be spent on winning the midterms and protecting the results.

I don’t know why Democrats should care in the slightest what someone at the National Review thinks about their strategy.

Read @commonwealthfund.org’s brand new State of Health Insurance report, which shows that the uninsured rate of working-age adults increased from 8.9% to 11.2% between 2024-26, with an increased number saying they’re foregoing insurance due to cost. www.commonwealthfund.org/publications...

commonwealthfund.orgThe State of Health Insurance Coverage in 2026This brief presents findings from the Commonwealth Fund Biennial Health Insurance Survey to describe the state of Americans’ health insurance coverage in 2026.

Notably, nearly three quarters of adults say that the federal government has a responsibility to ensure that all Americans have health insurance coverage. To be clear, there are many possible paths to broadening health coverage, but these numbers suggest this isn’t the time to limit imagination.
