Because values dictate politics, not the other way around.

Tarik Abou-Chadi@tabouchadi.bsky.social

Would the Left not be more successful if it only focused on economic redistribution and not social progressivism? The answer is no. People who want redistribution also want “woke” policies. One could know that if one engaged with the research. But then one couldn’t write the same article every year.

Sections of the media are just absolute bullshit. They've always been a problem - but now they're literally lying and making up things that have never been said. The only way to defeat the billionaire media is to organise around them. Join us: join.greenparty.org.uk

Just try not being the type of people that unstable people want to shoot.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Ernst simps for Trump's ballroom: "The correspondents dinner where the president, cabinet, & all of our correspondents were put in jeopardy by a gunman -- if we can move those social activities on the premises of the WH, make sure it's secured, I think it's a great investment by the American people"

The rising cost of oil, he must have deep pockets to fuel all this gaslighting.

JD Vance: "You know who never, ever gets an ounce of sympathy when it comes to disproportionate sentencing? People who voted for Donald Trump and participated in the January 6 protest."

Most clear handball I've seen all season long from #MUFC, one in which so many handballs are simply (mostly correctly) waved away. This was the wrong incident for the referee to rebel against VAR. Terrible.

The whole presidency is like a make a wish experience for a rich, demented old man, that has just gone on way too long but which has crashed out of all control and no one can stop anymore.

Dr Oz and Katie Britt talk to Trump like he's a toddler who is being cajoled to use the potty

This is the world broken, and it's revealing that there's no one able to fix it. That's how fragile the accepted normalcy has always been. It's an illusion, vapour. We're just meant to think that no one can create change. Sadly, Trump doesn't think that any rules, spoken or otherwise, apply to him.

Trump threatened to nuke Iran during the same press event where he called a woman reporter "baby" and a "bitch" and we'll all just supposed to continue on tomorrow as though any of this insanity is normal or acceptable

We all know the story. There were five loaves and two fishes. Jesus blessed them and in the end, everyone got nukes.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "As far as the Pope is concerned, it's very simple: whether I make him happy or I don't make him happy, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. And he seemed to be saying that they can. And I say they cannot. That's my only message."

Phillips spends this interview answering his own gotcha questions providing himself with completely different answers than the reasoned responses Polanski gives him moments before. The logic acrobatics are glaring. The agenda is obvious. This is an adult being interviewed by an adolescent.

When Jewish people speak out against genocide, why are our voices dismissed? And smirking while I describe someone Nazi-saluting at me isn’t just disrespectful - it feels deeply antisemitic. youtu.be/7VkfYJgLljE?...

No, going to peace talks is good. That damn ballroom is what is Islamabad.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: “I just cancelled the trip of my representatives going is Islamabad, Pakistan, to meet with the Iranians. Too much time wasted on traveling, too much work! Besides which, there is tremendous infighting and confusion within their ‘leadership.’ Nobody knows who is in charge, including them.”

I’m horrified that the government has announced £660 million to fund riot squads on French beaches, with teargas, shields and batons to be used on refugees fleeing war and persecution. Instead of subjecting desperate people to more violence, we should be opening safe and legal routes.

You know what I did. I gave the world corner stores. Corner store. It's a strange term. Not many people have heard that term. But corner store. Just try it. I did that. We should get credit. We have the best corner stores. Generals said to me, Sir, we never thought to store things on a corner.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Millions of American small businesses, including corner stores. What is a corner store? I've never heard that term. I know what a corner store is but I've never heard it described-- a corner store. Who the hell wrote that?"

We have to stop blaming the dementia. It's his one saving grace. Imagine how much worse it would be without it.

a very confused Trump: "Look at Justice Ginsburg. She was not exactly a young woman. The election was taken. They had a Democrat who could've appointed a liberal justice. About two minutes after the election, she went out." (Ginsburg died in September 2020, when Trump was president.)

Doesn't matter how much free healthcare care you give 'em, there's no cure for stupid.

Sharon Simmons, the DoorDash grandma who was just part of a Trump photo op at the White House, says on Fox News that "no tax on tips" helped her because she couldn't afford her husband's cancer treatments

The amount of gas required to light this one just put another $10 on the price of a barrel.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: Did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ? TRUMP: I did post it and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do Red Cross. Only the fake news could come up with that one.

If anything, this is a chance for Iran to bring those attack boats a quick service and a wash, while the US Navy does their work for them, preventing any oil getting out of the Gulf, with prices worldwide continuing their upward trajectory. Cheers Donny.👍

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Iran’s Navy is completely obliterated. What we have not hit are small number of 'fast attack ships.' Warning: If any of these ships come anywhere close to our BLOCKADE, they will be immediately ELIMINATED, using same system of kill we use against drug dealers on boats. It is quick & brutal."

America not being a signatory to a number of treaties does not mean that international law does not exist. The US is conducting clear war crimes, and boasting about it. They should be treated as a pariah state. They definitely shouldn't be getting a Royal visit.

Really concerned to hear the Defence Secretary refuse to rule out UK's involvement in future strikes on Iran. Iraq lessons must be learned. Further escalation in the Middle East makes us all less safe. Starmer must rule out UK involvement immediately.

Israel and the US have launched an unprovoked and illegal attack on a sovereign nation during ongoing diplomatic negotiations. We should not allow the UK to be dragged into another American war. We must do everything possible to stop this and uphold peace in the region.

Preferring that one country's government does not forcibly occupy the lands of another, label all its people terrorists, destroy their homes and murder their children, is not hateful, and is not racist. It's human.

There is no immigration crisis. Our successive governments are either bombing or aiding in the obliteration of countries in the Global South, then whipping up racist hatred against those very victims. The problems are what the rich are doing to the poor.
