Blanche was confirmed as AG. Just a reminder: The last time a president appointed an attorney he had personal ties to, was when Nixon appointed his law partner and campaign manager John Mitchell. Mitchell ended up disbarred and spent 2 yrs in prison for his role as AG protecting Nixon.

Explain to me why anyone watches these shows where everyone talks over each other. Infuriating!!!!

“You just lied on air. Outright lie.” @isaiahrmartin.bsky.social relentlessly 🔥 calls out @moynihanlydia for lying that Zohran wants to “get rid of prisons” on @abbydphillip’s nightly yelling show. (Where she gets space to lie regularly)

Wow, guess he’s running out of personal/family/sick leave, or vacation time at this point. He’ll need a Go Fund Me soon. Oh wait - no- he’s a member of Congress. Free ride forever.

Jon Cooper@joncooper-us.bsky.social

Questions continue to swirl around the prolonged absence of GOP Rep. Tom Kean Jr. of New Jersey as he entered his THIRD month away from Congress, with no clear return date from what staffers say is an undisclosed “personal medical matter” and a competitive re-election race looming in the background.

I’m one of those old gals you see driving around in a Prius. Make fun all you want. My car is comfortable, fast, has a kick-ass sound system. And, I’ve only bought gas once since the President started the war in Iran.

When we took office, NYC had a $12B deficit. Today it’s zero. And we didn’t close that gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets, & public housing. Call it Pothole Politics or Democratic Socialism: We are government that delivers for the people.

Hope he’s right!

MacFarlane: People in Virginia voted by the millions. Their voices were heard and now have been silenced. And you want to talk about what starts a political wave in a year like this: a mass of people who think their voices have been silenced. That doesn't stop a wave that fuels one.

Needed this. I need help in finding out what I can do. The list of abysmal actions is overwhelmingly long.

Susan McPherson@susanmcp.bsky.social

One lesson to take from this abysmal moment is that no victory is permanent and politics never ends. The right knew it, and the left can no longer ignore it. But that also means that the horrors now being unleashed on the country can be undone. By @paulwaldman.bsky.social in @atrupar.com’s PN:

COLBERT: How dumb do you think it is for people to say that I should run for president? OBAMA: Well, you know, the bar has changed. I think you would perform significantly better than some folks we've seen. COLBERT: Is that an endorsement? OBAMA: It was not

Congratulations. Well deserved. At least that’s one way to keep the Epstein investigation alive.

BREAKING: Congressman Johnny Olszewski (D-MD) is introducing a constitutional amendment to establish term limits for Supreme Court Justices. The ROBE Act would establish 18-year term limits for justices.

So, fired for utter incompetence or for allowing too much Epstein.. or both? I’m thinking both.

Pam Bondi is out? That's good news, but it won't lead Trump's "Justice" Dept to be more committed to justice. He'll lean on the next AG to accelerate his vengeful prosecutions of perceived enemies.

Lawyer: You don't regret that people might have lost income? Cavanaugh (DOGE): No, I think it was more important to reduce the federal deficit from two trillion dollars to close to zero. Lawyer: Did you reduce the federal deficit? Cavanaugh: No, we didn't.

Cool. Every doctor I’ve talked with about my weight says only “eat fewer carbs and get more exercise.” And Medicare does not cover weight loss drugs for “cosmetic” weight loss. It’s only for the rich.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year. Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity. Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall. It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford. It’s about priorities.

This: let’s do this!

Robert Fessler@professler.bsky.social

There are far more voters than ICE agents. People should plan to stay at their polling place all day. Make it a party. Meet your neighbors. Talk politics. Gather food trucks. Make it a safe place for voters who are nervous. ICE agents always back off when they are outnumbered.

Around the world, politicians and businessmen are resigning from their positions because of the Epstein Files. Except in the United States. Here: Zero shame, zero consequences. We need resignations, investigations, impeachments, and punishments now. Should have been years ago.

It took the outcry of a nation to bring 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father back to Minnesota from an ICE detention facility, and now the Trump administration is trying to fast-track their deportations. The cruelty of this administration has no limits.
