Wow a conservative policy that's self centered and designed for pensioners who had a far better economic outlook than young people today. Colour me shocked

Jim Pickard@pickardje.bsky.social

I'm sorry if this is obvious but the Tory proposal to exempt family homes completely from IHT will lead to 1] pensioners buying the biggest houses they possibly can 2] pensioners refusing to downsize which can only be bad news for younger families trying to buy family homes

@andyburnham.bsky.social many other parties have better policies but this would make me think you are at least credible

Millions of graduates are being ripped off by sky-high student loan interest rates. It's time for Andy Burnham to fix this unfair system in the upcoming Budget so balances stop growing faster than they're paid off. Add your name if you agree:

I'm still surprised they haven't been ousted for national security and the sake of the US military. Doing a lot of damage

A Pentagon Inspector General report says the Iran war cost an estimated $33.4 billion between February 28 and June 30. It’s caused “strategic inventory shortfalls”. Four F-15s were destroyed, one F-35 damaged, seven KC-135 tankers damaged and up to 30 MQ-9 Reaper drones destroyed.

Starting to think @labouruk.bsky.social would rather Reform win the next GE outright than enter a coalition with @greenparty.org.uk Their donors & leaders seem staunchly against wealth taxes or increased taxes on profiteering corporations Burnham's actions are still as confined as Starmer's were

Ross Greer (he/him)@ross-greer.bsky.social

Burnham knew this would be the result of dropping his pledge to cap political donations, but he did it anyway. Labour are determined to midwife a Reform government, like plenty of other centrist parties before them whose weakness paved the way for right wing extremists.

The Green's Baroness Bennett points out that Palantir did not have any experience in health data and only got NHS contracts after being introduced by the now disgraced Peter Mandelson Making the case that data ownership should be with the NHS, not with external parties

🚨 THIS IS BAD! 🚨 Palantir’s stated goal is to disrupt democracy by getting control of the systems in the name of technofascism. Their MO is wedging people into positions of power then shoehorning themselves into critical infrastructure. Now they control the grid. www.ft.com/content/f6a2...

If climate activists can be charged with terrorism for attempting to influence government policy through spray painting a wall, why not bond traders when they do a gilt selloff to coerce the government on fiscal policy They do *far* more harm to ordinary people, albeit indirectly

This was the point I emphasised about Palantir when I wrote about tech soverignty - their model is to make bits of the state dependent on them and them jack up the price. samf.substack.com/p/sovereignt...

China launches global tax hunt going back decades. UK needs to do the same. Last year HMRC failed to collect £59bn of taxes, that is £500bn since 2010. Poorest 20% Britons pay higher proportion of their income in direct/indirect taxes than the richest 20%. archive.ph/6hIvy

This isn't bonker's, its free market economics. The public it seems had views that did not align with stores owners *even after that enticing flag*. The market decided, resulting in an unwelcoming atmosphere. I dont count or judge, but would think bookshops tend to skew to the left...

This Tuesday the @archbishopofcanterbury.org and the members of the @churchofengland.org’s internal parliament, The General Synod, have a massive choice to make that will affect all of us. Will they restore 30% of their land to nature by 2030? #SynodVoteForNature @chrisgpackham.bsky.social

Andy Burnham looks like he might cancel the NHS England contract with Palantir, they also have one worth 2.5x as much with the MoD. RT if you want them both out of the UK.

Farage claims his phone was hacked by Russia and that this highlights the “threat they pose to British security”. Which is odd because 7yrs ago he had the chance to strengthen laws against Russian interference but he voted against it, saying the claims were “baseless” The man is never, ever right.
