Because of the efforts of High School Democrats of America, countless young Democrats have gotten involved and stayed engaged with the democratic process. It was an honor to chat with Milan and other young leaders at their annual summit.

It feels like my Bluesky and Substack feeds are about evenly split between activists complaining that the Democrats won’t consider Supreme Court reform and Democratic leaders and activists loudly advocating for aggressive Supreme Court reform.

My friend @timwegenermn.bsky.social is part of the finance committee at the DNC and he wrote the most spectacular opinion piece about Ken Martin. That also breaks down exactly what the DNC is doing. If this isn’t enough to get you to donate, I don’t know what will be thehill.com/opinion/camp...

They own this. Whatever disasters continue to unfold belong not to the president and his Cabinet alone, but to the entire Republican Party.

I don't think people fully appreciate how apocalyptic things are for US science. I haven't had any new funding since 2024, but I'm still ok since typical grants are for three years. This means next year I will be completely out of funding and will have to fire everyone in the lab. It's not great.

NSF Update through March 13, 2026 1/2

Reflecting on the president's horrific gaffe today, I haven't seen much discussion on the difference between a "surprise attack" and a "sneak attack." It's an important distinction. A surprise attack happens when one combatant attacks another in an unexpected time or place. It's strategy. 1/

A sneak attack is when one country attacks another without first declaring war. Pearl Harbor was a sneak attack, because the US believed we were still in negotiations. When President Franklin called it a "day that will live in infamy," it was because it was a sneak attack, not a surprise attack. 2/

What this administration did in Iran (both last June and this month) were sneak attacks. We were in active negotiations at the time of the attacks. It is just demonstrated once again that the president is a completely untrustworthy actor on the world stage, to either (former) friend or foe. 3/3

To be clear: the SAVE Act does not simply require the identification voting ALREADY requires. It demands proof of CITIZENSHIP— a birth certificate with a name that matches yours now (bye, bye, married women), or a passport— both of which are expensive and take a long time to obtain.

Sen. Hagerty: "We have to show ID for almost everything we do here in America. I do not understand why exercising one of our most precious rights as Americans is not one of those issues that Democrats can support."

Congress must return immediately and vote to put an end to this war. Every Senator should be on the record—the American people deserve to know which of their leaders supports another potentially bloody and costly war in the Middle East. No war with Iran.

We absolutely, positively should not be using AI in K-12 education when we have no understanding of its impacts could be. It’s still an incomplete work in progress, with limited real-world applications. There is no reason we can’t wait a few years to see how this develops before adoption. #edtech

I’ve worked with technology for over 40 years, and the most important lesson I can impart to you is that nobody ever accurately predicts the impact of a new technology, ESPECIALLY the companies introducing it. Anyone who confidently tells you how AI will change things is deluded.

I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.

“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

Americans must be eyes wide open that blocking the DHS funding bill will not shut down ICE. ICE is now sitting on a massive slush fund it can tap, whether or not we pass a funding bill.

Senator Patty Murray@murray.senate.gov

Federal agents cannot murder people in broad daylight and face zero consequences. I will NOT support the DHS bill as it stands. The DHS bill needs to be split off from the larger funding package before the Senate—Republicans must work with us to do that. I’ll keep fighting to rein in DHS and ICE.

We probably would not see eye to eye on a lot, but serious props to the Cato Institute for their absolute pile of great, full-throated defenses of immigration. They’ve done impressive work in this area for years now.

Immigrants in the US consumed about 24% fewer welfare and entitlement benefits per capita than native-born Americans in 2023, new Cato Institute research finds. Learn more from Alex Nowrasteh and Jerome Famularo: https://ow.ly/2w4Z50Y4Bsj

In regard to the debate about the training of ICE/CBP agents, I have an aphorism for you: "Culture eats training for breakfast." Individual behavior is mainly a product of organizational culture, which will negate prior training. ICE/CPB have well documented toxic cultures. THAT is the problem.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

This looks like an execution. There must be an investigation. There must be accountability. Joining ICE does not give you license to murder. The President is escalating the situation—and I have no faith he will stop. The Republican Congress must join us to end this. Enough.

Donald Trump spread lies and conspiracy theories to his followers to make them believe the 2020 election was rigged against him, then incited an angry mob to attack the U.S. Capitol to stop the election certification. These are Special Counsel Jack Smith’s findings.

We're about to see a lot of clamoring for the Democrats to shut the government down. This talk always seems to ignore that no group that has ever initiated a government shutdown has ever gotten what they wanted.

Quick reminder the even if the 25th Amendment were invoked, the president can dispute it and is immediately reinstated. If the Cabinet invokes it again, Congress votes to resolve the conflict, and it takes 2/3 in both houses to remove. It’s a higher threshold than impeachment. 1/2

This leaves aside that the current president would immediately fire the vice president and cabinet upon reinstatement, kicking off further constitutional conflict. 2/2

The fact that ICE officers prevented a doctor from rendering aid after fatally shooting an innocent woman is sick beyond measure.   As we press for accountability, it is important that all of us spread the facts of this brutal and unjustified killing far and wide.

How are rural residents supposed to shop around for emergency care? What do they do when there's only one hospital for miles?   Especially when GOP Medicaid cuts are CLOSING those hospitals!

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Cassidy: "If she goes and gets 2 types of shampoo & one is a dollar cheaper, she'll get the cheaper one & the other lowers their price. Once you give her the power of making the decision, she's gonna shop -- that begins to save her money and squeezes waste out of the healthcare system."

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."
