#socialism must be trending wildly. Can be the only reason new articles like this are written to drape society with the specter of hand wringing. Because let’s face it, socialism brings the idea of long bread lines, and govt deciding what products are made. In which the US will never be close to

Fauci accuses Rand Paul of having an "unhinged obsession with calling for my prosecution" and of making "repeated slanderous comments," then says "although it pains me to do so... under advice of my attorneys, I will invoke my right under the 5th Amendment to refrain from answering your questions."

Despite their oversight role, FCC members have accepted pricey gala tickets from CBS or its parent company, now Paramount. Seven of the 10 commissioners who served since 2016 accepted tickets worth more than $260,000, ProPublica found.

This is why, speaking as a reporter who has covered a lot of this stuff, I find it bizarre that a lot of the commentariat don't see where anti-trans stuff is going. Gaines et al are pretty clear about how they see sports as a way to win battles that bathroom stuff didn't like a decade ago.
I found this quote from Riley Gaines to be really striking. Straight-up conceding that the purpose of trans sports bans is to normalize transphobia, and to give "ordinary" people "more cover" expressing it in public. ballsandstrikes.substack.com/p/anti-trans...

Markwayne Mullin on Mamdani: "You see the way he treated President Trump. President Trump literally brought him into the Oval Office, let him stand beside him, tried to give the olive branch. And the way the mayor treated him once he left the Oval Office will tell you what type of man he is."

The GOP ‘men’ want to inquire about the underwear of other men.
Todd Starnes says that if he were to moderate a debate for the Texas Senate race, he'd have one question for James Talarico: "Have you now, as a 37-year-old man, finally come to terms with your manhood? Or, do you sir, perhaps have an affinity for frilly underpants? What's up with that?"

Trump: "Everyone was doing great. Oil prices were very low. You were buying oil for $2. Remember just a couple months ago you were at $2. I said, 'Congratulations. Now I'm gonna upset the apple cart for you because we have to take a little journey down to a beautiful country known as Iran."

lol, a mask off moment. An industry that feeds off people without their knowledge, uses consumers as their employees, in general took on the moto move fast break things, F’d over countless industries, runs roughshod against regulations….but hooking up with Trump was the wake up moment 🤔
Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump was a mask off moment and showed the world we can’t depend on US tech companies. For the past few months, I’ve been trying to get off US tech and I put together a guide so you find alternatives too. I hope you find it helpful!

Here’s an idea, Trump and gop push TSA into a state of almost inoperability. Private contractors who just possibly have donated campaign funds, swoop in and get government contracts to handle screening duties. Big tech will then control all the data they compile.
Life becomes a real bitch when those you are beholden to for handing out cash, $400M airplanes, drone contracts to your sons, want to cash in those chips
Trump is considering a broader cabinet shake-up in the wake of Pam Bondi's removal, as he grows increasingly frustrated with the political fallout from the Iran war. The war has driven up gas prices, dragged down Trump's approval ratings and intensified GOP anxiety about their prospects in November.

Duffy: "I think we have to offer the president grace. We know the president cares about the economy, gas prices for the American people, he's talked about that frequently and often. He also cares about peace. A lot of people don't give him credit for that. He's proud of the conflicts he resolves."
