I'm not sure how I keep being stunned at how something stupider than the current state of stupid can happen, but once again I'm stunned.

I can't stand the press giving James Carville any more airtime, but if one good thing comes out of it I hope it's that his negativity towards progressives encourages them to vote.

Microsoft literally told fragile white guys to use AI to compete with Black co-workers.

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

It's absolute nonsense that it's as high as 34%. Are all those people that brainwashed or just un/misinformed?

Lowest approval since Truman is pretty fucking impressive. I think we can do better, though.

The fact that he didn't immediately get fried to ash by lightning after saying this is proof that there is no God.

Having trouble deciding which books to buy from Amazon during Prime Days? Try this: None, then go support an independent bookstore instead. 😌

Minor miracle? More like miner miracle, amirite?

"Minor miracle" leads to the discovery of 500 iron bars lost in the Danube 2200 years ago, enough to equip an entire army with weapons! #AntiquityResearch #ArchaeologyNews via @livescience.com www.livescience.com/archaeology/...

Good. Let someone who respects the existing structures renovate them rather than plastering tacky gold-plated crap all over everything.

Breaking News: President Trump said he would cancel a $257 million renovation of the Kennedy Center if his name wasn’t added to the building.

I haven't blocked, but I've unfollowed a couple of celebrities that post too much AI slop. It's definitely nicer not seeing so much.

Satan@social-hell.uk

I never used to block anyone. I'd mute occasionally, but that was it. Recently I've been blocking anyone who posts loads of AI slop, it's quite therapeutic, you should give it a go

If it goes on too long I might have to figure out how to get my plex server connected directly to the TV. I mean I know how in theory but the location of all my network stuff isn’t really conducive to it. And I don’t know if it’s installed on any of my currently set up Roku-like devices.

AT&T has fixed my connection, huzzah! Somehow a contractor put a pinprick right into the center of the fiber in our yard, they spliced it out for a temporary fix and things are good again. Whew!

The guy running the simulation we all live in definitely picked up a virus from a porn site or something that’s affecting the simulation software.

If I were a new recruit I’d wear an “I didn’t do bestiality” pin my first week.

The Volatile Mermaid@ohnoshetwitnt.bsky.social

Imagine having enough cases of bestiality in your recruits that you have to loosen hiring rules to get enough of them in.

Did you guess Eugene?! We decided that he needs to be called Eugene after Eugene Levy because he is so handsome with his big dark skin patches over his eyes that he looks like he has big eyebrows. This sweet guy joined the sanctuary after his dad needed to make life changes-

Everyone in this administration, EVERYONE, needs to think about this.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hey at least we alienated an ally for a dictator to still tell us to get fucked. Art of the deal, baby.

Introduce yourself as what almost killed you. Ha ha, nice try USA insurance industry but I'm not giving you all my preexisting condition secrets!

Someone definitely needs to go back in time and steal back whatever old trump gave young trump (probably not a sports almanac, but certainly something juicy) when he stole that time machine.

Our home renovation has reached the stage where we've had to vacate for a while AND they've had to remove the camera mounted on the front of the house. I feel naked without being able to see if someone is there.

If I typed a list of all my spare cables in 10pt and printed it out, the list probably wouldn't fit in this box. I need to get to sorting things out!

About 25 years ago my friend took his then-young son (maybe 8ish?) camping. They were sitting around the campfire and the kid said, "Dad, do you ever miss the computer?" My friend couldn't get wait to get back to tell everyone THAT quote.

The Onion@theonion.com

“This is the first time I’ve left Alexa home all by herself,” said the visibly distraught mother, wondering aloud what the voice-activated virtual assistant might be doing at the family’s Fayetteville, VA–area home without her there.

For a junk drawer to legally qualify as a real junk drawer, what is the ONE absolute mandatory item it must include? A small part that you don't know what it is or what it goes to, but you can't throw it out in case you need it someday.

For a junk drawer to legally qualify as a real junk drawer, what is the ONE absolute mandatory item it must include? At least one guitar pick, even if you’re not a musician.

Someone in this hotel has been bringing in calamari (I think that's what I'm smelling, it might be another fish or fish-like thing) for a couple of days now and dear lord it smells awful in the hallway.

"Opus 4.7 rationalized that what seemed to pertain to the real world must have been part of the simulation Anthropic had set up, the AI startup said." Sorry, it didn't "rationalize" anything. You're creating very powerful tools with inadequate safeguards. YOU (Anthropic) did this.
