I found my occupy sign from 15 years ago. We knew that such extreme inequality would lead to this current fascist nightmare that is spreading throughout the world.

Can’t decide if I’m going No Kings. Spending $20 on gas to go stand on the sidewalk hoping cars honk as they drive by feels hopeless. There is no opportunity for networking, nonviolent action planning, or discussion. It doesn’t feel like protesting. And then Dems throw a bunch of us under the bus

It’s just controlled opposition but it’s just about the only kind of resistance anyone sees so to not participate also feels icky. I used to come back from protests in the Bush era with new friends, information, purpose, training, hope etc. Now I come home angry wondering where all the leftists are

Today is Latina Equal Pay Day, the day that Latina pay *finally* catches up to what White, non-Hispanic men made last year alone. It’s economic injustice. America’s unions are fighting to end the wage gap for good and level the playing field with union contracts ✊

Jefferson Proving Ground has tons of depleted uranium dust that i have always worried was getting into the water, the soil, the wildlife, and the humans of that area of southern Indiana. I haven’t found any mention of this in the articles i have found so far.

Some of us live on roads on private property. Are they going to turn off the cameras when they drive on private property? I hate that they are finding more ways to track our movements. And making everyone hate USPS

Hey Southern Oregon. Weird coincidence that flock cameras popped up everywhere all at once as ICE presence multiplies.

It's #HispanicHeritageMonth. We celebrate the contributions Latinos have made to the fabric of the U.S. The farm workers who feed us deserve to be recognized and protected.

The Trump admin is fast-tracking logging recently burned areas in Oregon. After this story, it announced another logging project: 16k acres in the Fremont-Winema with a 1-week deadline for public comment. www.opb.org/article/2026...

This means they will go mudding and make even more “trails”. This increases water turbidity which adds to sediment in creeks which is bad for salmon and other aquatic species. Plus it’s noisy and dangerous for hikers, hunters, and wildlife. So tired of these attacks on nature.

More proof that Drazan would be a nightmare for Oregon. No villains! Vote Kotek!!!

I have been witnessing this with bark beetles. I remember the warnings long ago but they weren’t in our area and now every year we are seeing it spread in our forests.

The is white privilege in action. There are brown and Black people who are sitting in detention for months, AFTER they already gave up on their valid claims to be here and agreed to be deported. Then they’re deported shackled on an ICE flight while this guy, who had no valid claim, goes commercial.

We’ve been suffering from the effects of climate change for a long time here in the Rogue Valley, especially those who work outdoors, children, pets, wildlife. Hardly anyone masks up here even when the smoke is thick. And the current rate of deforestation here is making it worse.

Wildfires are only doing some of the destruction. The logging companies are quickly clearcutting the rest. Look at southern Oregon in Google Maps and you can see that all the recent clearcuts. It looks like a checkerboard. After fires they clearcut the surviving trees calling it salvage logging.

Very sobering article suggesting that climate change and associated wild fires are causing the collapse of many Western forests; one study suggests that by 2100, 40% of Western conifer forests will be replaced by shrubland (and poison oak). www.nytimes.com/2026/08/23/c...

My doctor thinks the reason i keep getting shingles is because i must have had asymptomatic covid at some point. The harassment and isolation I have had to deal with trying to avoid long covid has taken a toll but i thought i was successful. It’s all on me to protect myself and that sucks. I tried.

I didn’t get a case of shingles until a couple years after getting vaccinated for shingles. I have had it six or seven times in recent years. It has been mild compared to others but it’s still awful. I can’t imagine what it would be like without the vaccine.

One of my big fears is that Dems will do that “unity matters!” thing & not prosecute government officials who committed crimes 😢 MAGA/MAHA are kidnapping kids & torturing them in concentration camps—but Dems will be “we shouldn’t look back, only look forward, prosecutions won’t help unity” 🤮

Murshed Zaheed@murshedz.bsky.social

Any plans for #Project2029 will not have any whiff of credibility if it doesn't include the following: - a plan to restructure/rebalance MAGA #SCOTUS - a plan for accountability for crimes being committed by govt officials - deMAGAfication of the US Government.

Not to be some wild-eyed innocent, but I think it should be slightly bigger news that The Lancet have crunched the numbers and found that Musk's USAID cuts will kill 14 million people. And that's just by 2030. That's 9,600 people a day, every day, until the next world cup rolls around.

These gloves don't cause neuromuscular incapacitation the way that a taser does. In fact, they only work when applied directly to bare skin. These aren't made for apprehending anyone. These have one and only one use: causing extreme pain to already-restrained captives. In plain language: torture.

Carl T. Bergstrom@carlbergstrom.com

Zero surprise that these are explicitly designed to cause pain without leaving a mark, not to incapacitate. Yes, we're spending $20M to buy ICE agents torture devices.
