This is why we fight so hard for lower speeds. Kids will be kids, cars are too large and hard to see around, and frankly our streets suck. We hate seeing these stories. But travelling at 20km/h, the child escaped with minor injuries. At 50km/h we'd be writing a completely different post.

The undercard to Smith’s referendum really needs more attention. It’s anti-urban, anti-immigration, absolutely built on the falsehood of modern rural life and ‘the family farm’ and who deserves to have cultural power.

After school drop-off this morning, I found myself in a small fleet of electric cargo bikes. There were five of us together at one point. Every year, more and more parents are ditching the car for the school run. State e-bike rebate programs are such a no-brainer. Wish we had one in Illinois.
