I have a friend who is a social worker doing the same work as this social worker. She has also told me stories of women like Amy Acton's mother.

We must amend the constitutional pardon powers of the presidency.

Students from North Carolina A&T can be seen marching back to their HBCU after voting on the first day of early voting in the state. The Guilford County Board of Elections voted to remove the school’s on-campus polling site. (video via Todd Simmons) greensboro.com/news/local/g...

Will you look at this. He got there. Hell yeah: "Powerful people are using small minorities in our community to distract from their corruption. The only minority destroying America is the billionaires."

Do you get it yet Democratic leadership? These billionaires are the enemy and you are already under attack. If you don't defeat them, you, along with the rest of us will be defeated. Fight.

Elon Musk has given Republican campaigns $650 million – MORE THAN HALF A BILLION DOLLARS – in the last few years. He's not doing it to make Americans more free. He's doing it to make Americans his serfs.

Happy National Coming Out Day! As Republicans continue to target the LGBTQ+ community, we have a responsibility to speak up, show our support, and stand up for their rights. Whether you came out today, have been out for years, or aren't out yet: know that you belong.

Musk is a conman the likes we have never before seen. "Which suggests that the real genius of SpaceX had nothing to do with aerodynamics or rocket telemetry but narrative rotation, as each new iteration of the company’s goals was financed by believers in the last."

Opinion from Alphaville: Almost a quarter of a century after SpaceX set out to make humanity multi-planetary, turning the space industry upside down in pursuit of Mars, it appears to have found something better to do. ft.trib.al/jQ6mEtL

Early in-person voting is the most powerful thing you can do to stop MAGA from stealing this election. Early voting in Virginia starts at 9AM on Friday and I will be there when the doors open. Will you show up and fight these assholes with me?

Am I a terrible person because I wish there was a bsky World Cup filter so I wouldn’t have to read everyone’s color commentary on something I do not care one whit about?

5-4 for what it explicitly says in the constitution is incredible. They were this close to undoing the civil war entirely. bsky.app/profile/mjsd...

The Supreme Court strikes down Trump's attack on birthright citizenship. By a 5–4 vote, it holds that the 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to children born of unauthorized and temporary immigrants. Roberts and Barrett join the three liberals. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

Democrats should demand a clawback of ICE's remaining OBBB money before agreeing to supplemental Pentagon funding.

$2bn/day, with $2.8bn/day in munitions alone over the first two days. I tend to think of myself as a Large Number Scale Understander but this is just mind-boggling amounts of money.

Given that, with no real threat to US interests, Israel and Saudi Arabia were able to coerce this administration into starting a war with Iran. When the administration starts desperately looking for a face saving resolution to a chaotic failure, what will price will they be able to extract?

I continue to believe that the rush to capitulation by the wealthy elites and the preponderance of secret evidence that the wealthy elites spent their leisure time at Club Pedophilia is not a coincidence.

Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

Leon Black and Leslie Wexner are still alive. They still haven't answered why they gave Epstein hundreds of millions of dollars for "consultation" and advice.

So this is it, right? All the richest men in the world were molesting underage girls and rather than admit it, they’ve decided to burn down liberal democracy and live on their private islands. It all makes sense now.

Joe Sonka 😐@joesonka.lpm.org

OK, so Musk was planning to go to Epstein's island, but it's not like he went there with the intent to go to a wild party or something, it was probably just some business. Excuse me, an email just came in. *Reads:* "What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?"

Cities and states like Minneapolis and Minnesota are in an asymmetric fight and must respond with asymmetric tactics. When outnumbered and outgunned, leverage unique strengths and exploit the their weaknesses. - Lodging - Transport - Fuel - Food Their logistical tail is their vulnerability.

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter. I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

If the DEA had killed 80 innocent Americans in the course of apprehending one drug dealer, there would be riots. But we are so ghoulishly indifferent to the lives and humanity of people abroad that it's barely even part of the conversation.

Jonathan Cohn @jonathancohn.bsky.social

A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.
