“MAGA’ts” is the proper spelling. Block all follows from accounts without posts. Billionairism is a social disease that must be eradicated for humanity to survive.

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do. Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.

Ellen L. Weintraub@ellenlweintraub.bsky.social

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

This is a good time to bring up RFK Jr's role in a major measles outbreak in Samoa in 2019. Over 𝟴𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 died. 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣. RFK Jr has blood on his hands. He's not fit to have any say about vaccines. youtu.be/l0f3yZ9jJPY?...

Good morning. Keep making those calls! ((☎️))) 🚨 Ask for your representatives and tell them to vote NO on RFK Jr! Capitol Hill switchboard 202-224-3121 Because oh my god. 👇🏽 Sound up. 🔊 We now DEFINITELY know too much about this man to allow him near Capitol Hill! +…

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

Wow. Caroline Kennedy breaks her silence on RFK Jr in a message to Senators: “We grew up together. It’s no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because Bobby himself is a predator. He enjoyed showing off by putting baby chickens & mice in a blender to feed to his hawks.”

Reminder: there is a straight uninterrupted line from the post-2020 “comedy” of Dave Chapelle to the erasure and persecution of trans folks by this administration. That’s what happens when comedy punches down; it empowers the cruel. I hope his token dead trans friend he uses as a shield is happy.

America is effectively unique in that it allows Employment at Will, which means workers can be fired for any reason or no reason (with a few exceptions). EAW is rejected elsewhere because it leads to this kind of situation, in which human lives are used to protect profit.

The fact that Amazon workers were told to keep working in these conditions is unforgivable.

I think it's important to never lose sight of the fact that there is nothing organic about the anti-trans legislation. It's all a part of a large pys-op by Christian Nationalist groups. There was actually backlash to early anti-trans bills🧵 wherethereissmoke.substack.com/p/how-big-mo...

I think the prevailing trend of the next several months is “rugged individualist” types discovering just how dependent they are on federal funds

ill-boo-mi@yallchemist.bsky.social

TRUMP: We are pausing federal funding. MY BOSS: Hell yeah. CLIENT WITH GOVERNMENT CONTRACT: We need to talk about our service agreement. MY BOSS: Wait.

Trans people do not have the ability to be honorable and trans at the same time. Like the ignorant fucks who wrote this policy even understand what honor is.

Peter Walker@peterwalker99.bsky.social

When the Trump administration first set out its transgender stance there was a fair bit of support from some UK commentators. Will thus be interesting to see the response, if any, to the move into very open prejudice (you can’t be “honourable” or honest and trans, and so can’t serve in military).

*raises hand Because we've let the press consolidate in the hands of right wing billionaires with a vested interest in the hollowing out of informed consensus and real journalism, replaced by shallow ad-based controversy infotainment designed largely to disorient, distract, and coddle power?

Yet *another* GIFT to Democrats to thwart the anti-trans hysteria that cost them an election. Yet another gift they will not capitalize on because they are dumber than fucking rocks and can’t communicate their way out of a wet paper bag. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

Trump just called Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) a “fantastic guy” MBS ordered the brutal murder of US-based journalist, Jamal Khashoggi What Trump didn't mention is that MBS is funding the construction of a new Trump Tower in Serbia This story has been ignored by most media outlets

Trump says he's going to ask Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who he describes as "a fantastic guy," to invest $1 trillion in the US economy

Jesus. Fucking. Christ. This is all the fault of Democrats who can’t message their way out of a wet paper back.

Sergeant Gonell @sergeantaqgo.bsky.social sent me this picture. This is his call log. Each call is an automated Dept of "Justice" notification saying "The defendant you testified against is being released from the dept of corrections." Each defendant assaulted him.

The ONLY thing that unites all MAGA’ts is a delight in abject cruelty. There is nothing in common with MAGA’ts and basic human decency.

Trump exploded in fury at Bishop Marian Budde on Truth Social a little after midnight, calling her a "hater." As we argue on today's pod, there is nothing MAGA despises more than appeals to common decency and humanity. newrepublic.com/article/1905...

Historian here this is the difference between northern and southern churches going back to the Civil War when they split over slavery. When fundamentalists try to claim abolitionists today, nah they are sanctuary churches today that Trump has included in his mass deportation order along with schools

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

Just a reminder that, if Dems could communicate their way out of a wet paper bag, $20 million in antitrans ads could have been TOTALLY NEGATED had Dems talked about Imane. What’s your definition of woman, GOP, and why doesn’t Imane fit it? variety.com/2024/tv/news...

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism. We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive
