JK Rowling’s transphobia has ruined Harry Potter. That is a shame, there was a real magic in the fantasy of it. As a kid, I always loved imagining going to private coed boarding school. Inheriting a big pile of money. Drinking non alcoholic beer. Owning a little slave guy

I searched on "frumious bandersnatch" to get the whole Lewis Carroll poem (Jabberwocky). It returned a rock band. And an eBay photo of an album, quick facts about it, a link to wikipedia about the band, 3 music videos, a Spotify link, 4 songs, a list of other bands, an AllMusic discography, ...

Youtube links, Discogs, album list, Bandcamp link, LastFM link, Psychedlicized Radio link, "people also search for" list, Daily Motion link, the band's "exclusive merchandise," another Youtube link, RateYourMusic link, a Reddit link... and FINALLY a link to the Poetry Foundation and the poem.

X has made a comeback with some communities, namely AI and tech, but it is not Twitter of old. On X, users have been spreading the name of a woman they think is Cornell's Jane Doe. One particular post doxed a woman's address and phone numbers and was viewed 1.4 million times.

I whooped, triumphantly accepted the little red Triceratops and handed it to my grateful son. Then I looked over at the line of 7 little children staring in surprise at the grown man who had just celebrated kicking their ass.

In the land of bullet points, the Paragraph Man is king.

increasingly feels like my Perfectly Fine liberal arts education was an artifact grabbed fleeing a burning temple

In "The Good Place" or "Defending Your Life," afterlife statisticians compile meticulous data from your life. If ever given the chance to ask, I would want to know exactly how many times I have ever tapped the "Delete" key.

Wrote it with Rob Smigel. And yes, it was pulled from reruns.

This aired just the once in 1998 on the live SNL show for which McKay wrote it. It was effectively banned as it never aired again. I wonder why. MEDIA-OPOLY

I thought an important aspect of being a sniper is camouflage and stealth. Will the guys manning the arch be outfitted with white uniforms and gold helmets? Maybe they’ll be all silver like street performers.

We really are getting into 'The Death of Stalin' and "Der Untergang' ('Downfall') territory.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the debut of Star Trek and the 52nd anniversary of President Ford’s pardon of Richard Nixon, I hereby pardon Paramount for Star Trek V, seasons 1 & 2 of Picard, and the puppet episode of Strange New Worlds. #StarTrek

just got arrested for going up to a police officer while wearing meta glasses and saying "computer, transfer $100,000 from this officer's bank account into my account" and then waving my hands like a magician

Mamdani is succeeding in part by projecting joy Ossoff is succeeding in part by projecting steely ferocity We’re in a moment when attitude is nearly as powerful as ideology, because we all need courage. And these are two ways of summoning it

If Fauci had come back with "I'm a guy who would never ignore his son-in-law beating the shit out of his own daughter," I'd have asked for his hand in marriage.

@joshtpm.bsky.social Another O.G. writes from the trenches about what 2026 has brought to the news websites. "Over the past 5-10 years or so, social media platforms went from prioritizing news traffic to burying it."

So with regards to what I said about how Fark won't survive this year without more TF subscribers, I wrote up a longer explanation about what we're all up against. Not just Fark, all of digital media.

A "60 Minutes correspondent" is a full-time investigative journalist who researches, writes, and hosts in-depth segments. Ross Douthat will fail not due to his headful of lazy ideas but the demands of a full-time gig. He hasn't put in a solid 40-hour work week in decades. It will break him.
