Visited Hamilton Co this weekend to share voteintime.org. As we hopped across the county we saw a big difference in wait times - sometimes a 10 minute drive could save you 40 minutes in line. Visit www.voteintime.org when you arrive, and check back with us before you drive back! #IndianaVotes

Visit www.voteintime.org if you are voting early in Indiana! Site will also be available to Vote Center counties on Nov. 3rd.

Visited Johnson County over the weekend to let Hoosiers know about voteintime.org & celebrated the first time IN Tech for Progress signs have been posted statewide! Roger added miles to the tires & coffee to the travel mug. Vote early and let us know what your wait time is! #IndianaVotes

Today we celebrate the birthday of the first computer programmer. The mother of all computing, Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace. Her "poetical science" led her to ask questions, examining how individuals and society relate to technology as a collaborative tool 100 years before her peers.

The Pope comes out against AI art. As a Catholic, it makes me proud to see Pope Leo give more thought and have a more nuanced view of the impact of AI than most world or corporate leaders.

I see posts like this daily on the Claude Code and Anthropic subreddits. It’s weird to hear all this talk of how Anthropic’s powerful AI will destroy humanity when the people who use it daily are like “This thing sucks now.”

These are great boards with a ton of uses, and super easy to fit into an enclosure. Simple to code in CircuitPython & easy to remotely contol over HTTP. Pick up a few.

I’ve decided to bring back some popular products to the shop. PixelLeaf has always been a popular product due to its size and density. I’ll be working on getting some made and in the shop :) www.tindie.com/products/oak...

If you want PISA scores to go up long term, look at how your nation educates its poorest, most rural, most marginalized students. How many are in school? How close is that education quality to what the richest kids get? Yes I said long term. Take the short term hit of getting to 100% enrollment.👍🏿

A sad truth is most companies do not know how to assess quality of knowledge work. This is why they resort to RTO policies because they can’t simply judge if people are working better or worse from home. This is also why they think all AI usage is good when most of it is obviously counterproductive

“Lost media” no longer! I finally got permission to upload “AL’S BRAIN,” an 11-minute educational 3-D film attraction which ran at the Orange County and Western Washington fairs, and hasn’t been seen publicly since 2009. You can watch the whole thing here: youtu.be/2xujU87ZHt4

They specifically want books before 2022 because they are uncorrupted by AI. They need books that have not been poisoned by the poison they are making. It's just like pre-war steel. They invented cultural radiation.

Dr. Jeroen W.P. Wijnendaele@drdragases.bsky.social

No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.

Profoundly sad (and angry) about today's SCOTUS ruling against transgender athletes. The bigotry and racism of several recent rulings are hard to absorb. My heart goes out to transgender people and their families, especially the parents of transgender kids (I know many). I feel your sadness today.
