Folks, I know it’s easy to get excited about all the polls showing Democrats ahead and feel like this election is a done deal. But we can’t take anything for granted. That’s why I’m urging you to take part in a No Kings early voting event today where you live. https://www.nokings.org/

Thank you to everyone who stood with me over the years. It’s been a scary journey but I have always been grounded in my work and ability to provide exemplary service to my constituents. Trump and his administration have been after me since I arrived in Congress.

BREAKING WaPo: Trump officials scrutinized Rep. Ilhan Omar in 2019. They didn't find citizenship issues.
The earlier review of Omar's immigration records looked at many of the same issues being investigated now.

Ran into two aliens from The Outer Wilds on the subway. Took me a minute to realize what they were. If you’re one of these people and you’re on this website I think you’re cool as hell

I am tired of space heroes being American and space villains being push Brits. We should take it in turns. First round Space heroes are Jamaican, space villains are Belgian

Not much soul in Cupertino

Oliver Darcy@oliverdarcy.bsky.social

“Everyone considers it fucking nuts.” Inside Apple, I'm told "not a soul" supports Donald Trump's Lake Ontario rebrand to "Lake America," but the company is also resigned to making such concessions to avoid the White House's rage. Details in @status.news: www.status.news/p/apple-maps...

We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.

Probably more helpful to think of them not so much as “Canadian wildfires” but rather “climate change wildfires currently consuming Canada”

do English speakers not have a concept of sufficiency without excess because we don’t have a word for it? Or did we never come up with a word because we don’t have it as a cultural value?

It must be so cool to be such a good poster

this is not even close to a complete answer, but if the “takeaway” is meant to be “this looks cool but it’s not” (goodfellas, fight club, etc) there will always be people whose takeaway will be “this looks cool.” for these people the seductiveness resonates but the comeuppance doesn’t
