Fascinating Jeremy, now tell us about the time you cut national insurance twice as an electoral game despite knowing we couldn't afford it.

Insolvency scam The boss of twice-bust business back despite £3m debts. These people gut a company, HMRC and creditors not paid. Then buy assets cheaply from the administrator in pre-packs, and back in business. Gone on for decades. No transparency of administrator dealings. No investigation.

Anyone supporting this motion is, at best, an imbecile. More likely they're a straight up cunt. If Polanski backs it, it would be an outrage. But even his failure to speak out against it is pretty damning. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

No, Elon: it was because the conquest of Egypt (in particular) suddenly made a few Romans so unprecedentedly rich and powerful that they destroyed the Roman Republic.

This might get underreported but take note. The USA has threatened to unleash economic hell of those who trade with Iran. The Chinese just called the US bluff. If the USA meekly accepts the Chinese rebuke (which it probably will), the US is acknowledging how weak it is. www.cnn.com/2026/08/21/w...

@lbc.co.uk do you realise that making small boat arrivals your top story, yet again, you are fuelling the flames? Of a story which is way out of proportion. At least add that people seeking asylum can't come by any other means. #lbcnews #racistriots #rightwingpopulism

I dunno - could it be more customers are 'preferring' to use chatbots because the sites are funnelling them there? Dealing with utility companies has been hideous for years, and looks like it's going to get even worse. Still, margins eh? www.theguardian.com/business/202...

No arrivals by small boats for the last 10 days now. As of yesterday, 12,469 people had arrived so far this year across the Channel, down over 11,000 (47%) on the same time last year. More than 10% down on 2023 as well, which was when crossings were, by comparison to other years, lower.

Just to recap: Calling Nigel Farage “an unflushable poo” = dehumanising hate speech. Calling for hotels housing asylum seekers to be set on fire = guest of honour at party conference. Bless those non-racist free speech warriors.

Not to excuse this, & it’s a while since I presented anything on the BBC, but I do recall noting an almost subconscious desire to disprove bogus allegations of bias by being particularly tough on Labour & Lib Dems (Ed Davey once complained!) This is another victory for right wing media gaslighting.

Obviously my political radar is tuned for this, but does it detect strong right-wing bias at @lbcnews.bsky.social? Will lead with small boats whenever poss, never mentions bad Farage stories more than once, and today has bad Labour & Green stories the day before council elections. Am I wrong?
