BC Greens got 11% of the vote and only 2 seats. If we had proportional representation, Greens would have 10 seats in the BC legislature. Our electoral system in BC in must change. #cdnpoli #bcpoli #vanpoli

David Eby is telling Greens to vote NDP to stop a Conservative government. He is intentionally confusing voters. The people of West Van-Sea to Sky have already shown they don’t need to choose between Conservative or NDP: they can re-elect a Green. 1/

You don't have to do this, @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social. It's a choice. They want to defund you. They think you're a propaganda arm of an evil government. You will never win them over by showing them grace when they show absolutely none towards you.

Forestry sector is 2% of BC’s GDP. If you’ve been in the woods lately, you’ll have noticed they’re cutting youthful trees, 60 years old. BC’s once mighty forest industry has been plundered. Workers have been taken out of the equation with feller-bunchers & mechanization. BC Cons, not a good plan:

The area they were fishing was closed for retention of rockfish and lingcod. DFO says there are over 35 species of rockfish along BCs coast, some of them live for over 100 years: they grow and reproduce slowly, with many species in decline and of conservation concern.

Quadra had two referendum ballots today. Hour+ long lineups for most of the day at both voting locations. Highly contentious Bylaw 643, and, a woodchipping & climate resilience service. So curious about voter turnout! Anyone know if this is posted if there’s no candidate election? (acclaimed!)

Okay friends, where are you tracking local govt election news tonight? #bcpoli

Once again BC Conservative candidate Anna Kindy did not show up to the all candidates debate in Campbell River, biggest municipal centre in the North Island riding. No mention on her FB of a terrible flu preventing her presence. I guess her constituents don’t deserve to hear from her? #bcpoli

EVERYONE GET IN HERE!!⚡ Elect enough BC Greens, and in a minority we’ll have the leverage to get things done. With the ultrawealthy paying their fair share, we’ll deliver: Believe in better! #votegreen

Maybe the NDP needs a fresh mandate so they can get some real stuff done? If so, bring it on.

In case you missed it! This week the BC NDP made some important announcements about the environment. Protecting the people and places we love. 🌎🌳 This stuff matters deeply to us. The big goals - and the specifics. So we’re going to run through them super-speed. ▶️👇🏼 @brittnyanderson.bsky.social

Does this mean Eby is enabling AI Data Centers outside of the Water Sustainability Act? Because under the Act, it's first in time, first in right. So how do AI Centers get approved for water if farmers have been waiting for years for theirs?

David Eby@davidebybc.bsky.social

AI data centres use a lot of water. Here in B.C., we’re doing things differently. A BC NDP government will strictly regulate how much water data centres use and make them report it publicly. And if there’s ever a shortage, it won’t be farmers or communities that go without. It’ll be the data centre.

I won’t belabour this because I’ve written about it before, but the part of Carney’s pipeline pivot that I find impossible to justify is the government taking on the demand risk.
