Elon Musk aggressively pushes Twitter subscribers to switch from "chronological" to "algorithmic" feeds. Once this choice is made, the subscriber will find his account instantly flooded with right-wing political propaganda that reflects the thinking of Elon Musk, a Nature study has concluded. Musk's

literally moments after claiming he gave up nothing in exchange for a hostage who was being held by Putin, Trump admits that he didn't implement sanctions on Russia in order to get the hostage

I find it odd that shareholders don’t call this out too, if not on ethical grounds, then for business reasons. Governments around the world are watching. Will they be more persuaded to let Starlink take over big chunks of critical infrastructure after seeing this, or less?

Hard to overstate how much Hegseth's execution stream mirrors the U.S. military's traditional description of ISIS propaganda: broadcast killings designed to send a message, strike fear and create a social media spectacle. Will almost certainly be repurposed by online terror cells

It could have been worse. It might have been “Trump intelligence” or “Intelligence of America”. But still.

"His summits are a national hazard precisely because Trump apparently does not understand that he is representing the United States; instead, he seems to think he’s just having a visit with some of the guys in a very cool club of which he’d very much like to be a member."

These summits are too embarrassing - and too dangerous, with Trump's instability - and the country would be safer and better off if our president weren't hosting them. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

What are we doing, folks? I mean, really.

The military bloat of the massive SUVs on the school run is getting ridiculous. You're there to take a child home for tea, not transport a pallet of shrinkwrapped banknotes through the fall of Basra.

In the long wake of the Great Recession, the classic tiresome, pat answer to people who couldn’t find a decent job was “learn to code.” Now, do we have a similarily oversimplified yet sorta-plausible answer for people who no longer can find stable employment? I don’t think we do. That’s unsettling.

Got a slop spam I haven't seen before this morning. Someone offering to 'review and improve' my Wikipedia presence, given its importance as a professional reference. If 'current issues' with my 'concise' page aren't addressed, it could be nominated for deletion. Really? Wikipedians please take note.
