I hope that the lesson "moving a building after building it is harder than building it in the right spot" is a lesson I only have to learn once.

2 sheets of 4x8 plywood sheathing 8 2x3x8 studs 6 feet of 2 ft. wide 1/2 in. hardware cloth 1 box of 2 1/2 in. general purpose screws 1 box of 3 in. general purpose screws Around $130 of material for a 3x5 chick brooder Could've been less than $100 if I used OSB

would love to see a thread of small practical pieces of advice developers just starting out or unfamiliar with a genre might not know! I’ll start: if you’re using a tag-based system, don’t just give everything an individual tag—look for thematic groups where similar events can lead to same outcome

Biggest lesson I learned was, snap your floats! Build on a grid. Large floats take up a lot of extra calculations and the results may vary depending on the hardware. This can cause a lot of unpredictable bugs. Things move around or fall out of the world. A lot of indie projects make this mistake.

This reflective acrylic sheet shows how 1980s illustrators were able to trace real-life objects on the computer. Once it was aligned, it reflected whatever was in front of it over the monitor's display, allowing artists to trace it in a tool like MacPaint or MS Paint. Simple, low tech and effective.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city. We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

Through thorough testing, I believe I have created the perfect breakfast sandwich: - Sesame seed top bun - mayo mustard dill spread* - French fried onions - 1 slice American cheese - 1 egg* - 1 sausage patty - 1 kale fritter* - Sesame seed bottom bun

*1 pt mayo, 1pt mustard, heavy shake of dried dill *egg cracked into hot pan, stirred until ribbony and shaped into patty *equal measures kale and potato, rice flour and water, shaped into patties and fried to just done, stored in fridge or freezer, can be heated in toaster oven to crispiness

The Danny Brown concert last night was incredible. Femtanyl, and underscores were so damn good. However I'm afraid Danny's hits might be ruined for me, as I now have the live versions to compare them to.

Minos from the talented folks at Artificer is one of the most unique roguelites we've ever seen. As the fabled Minotaur, you must defend your sanctuary by designing deadly labyrinths, setting clever traps, and taking the fight directly to the invaders. Play the demo now on Steam! 🏺🐂🏺

RealSound was computer voodoo if you understand the context. PC games of the time made music from deafening beeps that were intended more as system alerts. Access figured out how to play waveforms through that speaker, resulting in music clips and speech before sound cards existed.
