“Across Silicon Valley, the mismatch between AI capability and macro impact has become a kind of koan: Intelligence is not the bottleneck. Presumably, that goes not just for the possibility of A.I. superabundance but for the prospect of doom as well.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/25/m...

nytimes.comWhat Can Climate Change and Covid Teach Us About A.I. Doom? From climate to Covid to A.I., we face a terrifying feeling of exponential growth spinning out of our control. Are we right?

“By any concrete measure, the country threw more at the project of building AGI than it had at anything in many decades. And today the number of Americans who believe A.I. is moving too fast outnumber those who believe it is moving too slow by 33 to 1.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/16/o...

“MAHA is a seductive process because it speaks to real pain—the pain of being abandoned. But it offers no solidarity only self management, not justice only blame, not transformation only cruelty disguised as wellness.”

On the surface, MAHA sounds like it’s about healing, about fixing a broken system. Its appeal is rooted in a widespread, deeply felt experience of abandonment by our health care system—a system that feels extractive, cruel, expensive and overall indifferent to everyday suffering.
