I worked in Europe. Years ago when it first came out, the video went viral. I had people popping into my office just to ask me to say eleven. I think by now they've almost all been to Scotland or witnessed the Scottish fans at the Euros. Great ad! But sadly they've yet to find such a lift.

This could get "interesting". UK reservoirs could run dry before Xmas, requiring water to be brought in from elsewhere. This is reported in the Daily Mail - I know - and so their map excludes Scotland (and NI) from the shortage graphic. Of course, Scotland has no such problem. I wonder why? 1/3

Crude oil that was refined in Scotland and exported to England as refined (and thus, more expensive) product is now shipped to England and refined in England, reducing Scotlands net export value. Further, more expensive refined products are now exported to Scotland from England! It’s a GERS thing.

I'll say it again: this tax at the pump is how Britain changes the point of collection of North Sea oil revenue from Scotland to England.
