My "art director" philosophy is "bring on board the friend who you know can do this shit better than you ever could"
Friendly reminder that we have some incredible top tier talent working on Entropy - @decassette.bsky.social is just casually like 'ig I'll just do a quick masterpiece to say the game is out on the gram'...

the soviets had a word for it, even if they hadn't connected it directly to collective trauma (which is most certainly the mechanism, with a declining social contract as the catalyst) adbusters.org/articles-cod...
Pre-Covid, I always thought the 1918 flu memories were just overshadowed by WWI. But now, it’s clearly something about pandemics that just do things to collective memory. I don’t know whether this is unique to modernity but it‘s clear that humans react differently to this type of trauma.

Note that "Game Pass deals on hold" is what happens anytime there's been a re-organisation, re-structuring, re-alignment -- basically anything corporate starting with "re-". The dev-facing team has great folks but Xbox at large is always messy politically. www.eurogamer.net/microsoft-xb...

The POINT of the Arabian Nights stories is that the genie ALWAYS goes back in the bottle because the genie promises to give you what you want, but the hero always realizes they're better off without the genie.
This "ai code/art is already everywhere and impossible to avoid so you should just relax about people using it" shit has to stop, it's not remotely true. Same exact shit as "it's the inevitable future!" or "you can't put the genie back in the bottle!!" We can literally do whatever the fuck we want

The fact that "being taxed on a wealth that would take most people dozens of generations to gather" is "the scariest thing she's ever seen" means the world isn't scaring millionaires and billionaires nearly enough yet.
Zohran Mamdani said he's going to start taxing rich people who buy luxury housing in NYC but don't actually live in there, and the former CEO of Twitter/X called it "actually one of the scariest things I have ever seen."

Felt like adding to my Mario Bros. 1 redraw. Fixed Mario, added Luigi and Wario for fun. Peach, Toad and Bowser only work on black backgrounds like the original game. Allowed Koopa Troopa a sprite overaly to get an extra color like in SM3. NES accurate, but probably not optimized. #pixelart #ドット絵
Quick Mario 1 Peach Redraw. Attempted to match the shape to their later iterations. Sprite dimensions are identical, plus 2 8x8 blocks to small Mario and Peach. Would realistically only work on black backgrounds. Now to avoid making this a mockup... #pixelart #ドット絵
