Big thread on the Morse Code house. First off - to set the scene - this now demoed house was well known and well viewed - on one of the most traveled routes in the Indiana Dunes National park. Most locals knew about it, but didn't know much about the *why*, myself included. This got me curious. 1/7

I think a shocking number of our major societal problems would vanish overnight if you could magically pull the plug on the X platform and Meta, both of which are carefully designed to turn people into the worst version of themselves.

This is Nazi rhetoric, full stop. It's not only a call to instigate a race war in the United States, but it's reminiscent of historic European justifications used to incite pogroms against Jews. People who say things like this are incredibly dangerous, as there is nothing they won't eventually do.

Beyond the horrifying reality that a hospital is trying to "clear the pentobarbital from [Christa Pike's] system" currently, the litigation over Tennessee's actions this week will shine a very clear light on the many, many reasons why governments should not be trusted with killing their citizens.

Steven Hale@iamstevenhale.bsky.social

Story here. Attorneys say Pike is unconscious, on a ventilator and that both of her arms were “swollen, burned, and blistered” upon her arrival at the hospital Wednesday night. nashvillebanner.com/2026/10/02/c...

to be clear, the admin is alleged to have deported AT LEAST 25,447 individuals TO COUNTRIES THAT ARE NOT THEIR OWN with, evidently, ZERO PROTECTIONS. this is a scandal and crime of historic proportions.

the @forbidden-stories.bsky.social investigation is so deeply important. put the illegality to one side. the trump admin is brazenly sending ppl to third countries, lacking any cxn, without any guarantee they won't be sent on for torture, abuse, persecution... it's horrible.

Hey, I don't wanna seem like a conspiracy nut, but has anyone else noticed a huge uptick of aggressive Republican viewpoints coming from generic usernames on Reddit starting literally today? Was a bot network reactivated or something?

Republicans who see Canada as an enemy has leapt up this year, similar to how Republicans’ approval of Putin shot up in 2016. Virtually no anti-Canada US constituency before this year, and virtually no pro-Putin constituency before 2016. Out of nowhere. Now millions say that’s their position.

These people had protected status. They lived here legally. They worked, they paid taxes. They made lives. Raised families. Now we’ve dehumanized them. Ripped away that protection and told them to get out. This is a stain on the soul of this Nation.

I think I crashed Discord with this tasteful black and white photo of Bebop Jon from a Nick Lutsko and the $100k Band show in Portland. As far as I know, it was the last thing to be posted to the Nick Lutsko Discord, if not the entire platform.

In my lifetime I don’t think anything has made me want to give up on this broken country like the mass shared delusion about something that happened just a few years ago. So many brains are just completely gone and they’re not coming back.

Tuberville: "I'll be the governor of Alabama and I promise you we will find out if there's a possibility that we can bring him to Alabama to put him in front of a court and a jury to see if we can put this guy in prison. He killed millions of people, folks."

I'm not sure if it's COVID or what, but something broke in people recently that destroyed their ability to experience even minimal levels of discomfort for the greater good. The amount of blame-passing in a simple post asking people to turn their temp up a bit to avoid a brown-out is wild to me.

Like instead of doing their part, people seek to absolve their guilt by pointing their finger at others. It sucks. It makes me think that we are never going to solve the world's worst problems because there will always be someone else to blame. I thought we were better.

It's gonna turn out that Trump hired the guy who does temporary structures at his properties. The owner looks like a Dick Tracy villain and his company's named "Fallingwood Structure Logistics".

Yeah, I just looked, and it says "paid partnership" at the bottom of that post. If Democrats take the House and/or Senate, they should subpoena these people immediately

We recently took a trip to Canada and *had* to make a pilgrimage to a few very important places in Toronto. More photos coming soon, of course, and if you're unfamiliar with Nirvanna the Band (The Show, The Movie), now's the time to change that. #NTBTM #NirvannaTheBand

Anyone suggesting we should stop accurately pointing out factual ways that the president is wrecking this country on a daily basis, or expressing an opinion about that, because of something a random nut does is espousing a profoundly un-American concept that I completely reject.

Tuberville on Somali-Americans: "If you talk like they talk, they should be kicked out. They should banned from any committees. They should not be able to vote."

I don't typically do these list things, but I love bantering about games. I know "overrated" is the engagement bait, but I left it blank because any answer I give is gonna be obvious or attacking something someone genuinely likes.

Millions of American voters wanted to be villains. They came to believe it’s the key to success, while goodness is weak, woke, loser stuff, done only to signal. Offered the option of unvarnished villainy, they enthusiastically took it. Seeing others suffer more made them feel big. And here we are.

Loving this candid look into space travel we are getting with the live Artemis stream. They're currently trying to troubleshoot two instances of Outlook, and earlier they were having issues with an app trying to onboard them, but I think it was having trouble considering they're in space.

I'm watching the Artemis live stream and I just heard the astronauts say "We are happy to report we've got one instance of fluid in the toilet and it works great". It's funny the stuff we take for granted down here. I can't imagine the disaster it would be if the toilet in Orion *didn't* work.

I can't believe it's been 10 years since kishi_bashi released Sonderlust and, by extension, around 10 years since I took these photos, featuring one of the most photogenic crowd-surfs-with-violin I've ever seen (or even without)! It doesn't feel that long ago. Hyped to see them again soon.

I'm afraid it's unstoppable at this point, but it's great to see AOC speaking against this. Anyone who knows a lick about tech can see the writing on the wall here, but too many people in government both know nothing, and are afraid to look weak on "protecting the kids".

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@ocasio-cortez.house.gov

Republicans are using kids as a smokescreen for what Big Tech lobbyists want: a national surveillance program to harvest our data with zero protections for people and their privacy. We must fight this dangerous expansion of surveillance technology.
