I also think "Get Home Safe" could become a mainstay chant for bike safety protests going forward. It's such a basic message. It reminds everyone of home and the people we love who live there, and how getting to them is more important than any of this "cars vs bikes" wedge issue road rage bullshit.

"snowpiercer is trying to say that class societ-" WRONG, snowpiercer is saying that it even in the worst circumstances that it kicks ass to be on a train

I like this thread.

Multiple things are true here. This is a fascist, authoritarian administration. It has not yet fully consolidated power. Some of its efforts to do so have been frustrated. Trump is a doddering, confused egomaniac who started an unpopular war that's costing everyday people a lot of money.

You heard the man, vote!

Steve Bannon issues warning to voters if they vote for Democrats in the midterms: “I think you’ll see Bobby Kennedy impeached, I’ll think you see Pete Hegseth impeached. I think you’ll see subpoenas flying every day. They will look to destroy Trump, and we’ll be bogged down for two years.”

The president is just such a stupid asshole. I know we try to ascribe motives to this guy but he’s at the end of the day, when the story is written, just a dumdum idiot with a tiny brain that don’t work so good.

Towed my daughter’s new bike down to Seward Park so she can practice riding along Lake Washington Blvd without any cars. These weekends are so amazing for kids that are just learning to ride.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is proposing to double the size of Seattle's transit measure, which funds Metro transit service in Seattle—raising the sales tax from 0.15 percent to 0.3 percent. The ballot measure would fund the Seattle streetcar downtown, plus another 280,000 hours of transit service.

So, I saw this pop up on the NW corner of Jackson and 25th Ave, which is an intersection of a busy neighborhood arterial and a healthy street. While I’m a big fan of bike parking and daylighting, the placement here makes it impossible to hit the crossing lights. Good intentions, bad execution?

I love this section of the Elliot Bay trail. Weird little tree lined path sandwiched between a trainyard and warehouses. Still not used to that jank narrow bridge being gone.

This really sucks. I love R&M Load 60 and I’m now worried about the future of my local bike shop that specializes in them.

Music is best consumed as full albums in the intended track order and you’re not a true fan of a band unless you are prepared to rank and discuss all of their albums.

This post is actually great because I’m now following all the accounts dunking on this dude.

In Seattle it is: -Dark during commuting hours 1/3 of the year -Rainy 2/3 of the year -Hilly 100% of the time. Biking will NEVER be a substantial commuting solution. The amount of pandering to and resources wasted on a vocal, entitled minority is disgusting.

I love how toasters are like: 0-2: Do absolutely nothing 2-3: The full spectrum of successful toasting 3-4: Burn this food completely 4-5: Burn this and test my smoke detectors

yeah man i'll circle back to you on that agenda item from yesterday's all hands in just a sec. our pedophile king just threatened to destroy a whole civilization

I think it's pretty awesome that the first pictures of the general public riding the light rail over the floating bridge will be a ton of protestors going to the No Kings rally. Great optics all around, well played Seattle.

One of the things that i have to give it to Trump is that it is so fucking easy to oppose everything he says, stands for, and believes in. There has not been one moral close call with anything he does. I have never had to say "well does he have a point." No. Everything he does has been awful

Jeffrey Bezos is destroying the Washington Post for the same reason Musk destroyed Twitter and Ellison is destroying CBS—oligarchs oppose the free press when if it threatens their wealth and power. They don’t want normal people to see what is happening in America.

Good thing this is the first time these two teams have ever faced each other in the Superbowl and there are no terrible clips to replay over and over for the next two weeks.
