“Cyclists are often perceived as recklessly flaunting road laws. A new study challenges this perception. The study found only 5% of cyclists broke road rules while riding on bike infrastructure versus 66% of motorists who broke rules while driving.” Safe bike infrastructure fuels rule-following.

And somehow we've gotten them so mad because they're just constantly being abused and talked about. Talking about annexing their country, making it a 51st state."

Under Mark (and predecessor) our social infra has been under funded, under maintained. Where Mark promises more low taxes, more pools, rec centres, libraries will close. 100 are threatened. Want #OurBestOttawa? Vote for @jleiper.bsky.social ! 1/

How many of those parks/community centres are under-maintained bc of 2.5% taxes? How many are slated to close bc $419m went to Landsdowne? How many parks have functioning, accessible, public washrooms to promote equity and accessibility? How many paths are winter maintained?

I grew up in Bay Ward and spent many hours of my childhood in this park. The first stop on my tour of all 24 wards this weekend was a fantastic run through the area, right past the house where I grew up.

We’re back with a Jabapalooza clinic to give our patients their Covid-19 and flu vaccine boosters. Before you ask, yes, there is still Covid-19 in the community. Visiting a patient who just underwent cardiac surgery, there was an outbreak in hospital (see the sign below). Vaccines save lives.

You’ve had 4 years and haven’t fixed transit; housing isn’t more affordable and safety isn’t any better (and may be worse). We can’t afford another 4 years of Mark.

I’m ready to get right to work and keep moving Ottawa forward. In my first 30 days, I’ll take immediate action on affordability, transit and safety. Here's how.

What the heck is happening on Ottawa's roads?!🚨 4 fatalities of vulnerable road users in 6 days. A driver rams into a bakery. 4 collisions involving serious injuries yesterday. And today, another pedestrian killed in Barrhaven. Am I the only candidate in this election talking about this? 1/

🚨 BREAKTHROUGH: Canadian scientists at the University of Waterloo Dr. Brian Ingalls, Dr. Sara Sadr, and Dr. Marc Aucoin have engineered “tumor-eating” bacteria that can invade and consume cancerous tumors from within. A potential breakthrough in cancer treatment research.

This is and should be an election issue. I know @jleiper.bsky.social has been an advocate for pedestrian/cycling infrastructure and safety whereas incumbent (and predecessors) have been largely performative; want safer #PlacesForPeople across the city? Get out and vote

ALBERTANS, THANK YOU! Today, I am thankful for the 18,000 #ForeverCanadian volunteers that trusted and supported me for the last 18 months. I’m also thankful for everyone who voted to keep Canada united. I’d like to drive the Unity Bus into a sunset, but there may more to do. #ableg #cdnpoli

Reminder that a plan to reinvest in a #BetterByWard was unanimously approved in 2021, sat untouched until 2026 when it was reinvigorated as an election ploy; had ½ the $ needed for the 2021 approved, 2019 plan that largely ignored public input. Want more mediocrity? Keep re-electing the same ideas.

How about fixing and reinvesting in the +20 community centres, pools, libraries slated to close bc Mark and cronies are all in for Lansdowne and 2% taxes instead of funding we actually need.

Alberta has sent a message to the world that Canada will not be broken. Canada will not be divided. It wasn't even close. But we need answers as to who in the State Department and the US Embassy in Canada were involved in the meetings to try and break up this beautiful land.

As Canada awaits the Alberta separation referendum results, let’s remember how stupid this all is. Huge public money spent on a Russian & American-fuelled separation movement for an awfully-written and badly managed unbinding referendum on whether to hold a binding referendum that would be illegal.

It took two gin and tonics and a break but I got through the interviews with the leave side of the Alberta question. /Front Burner with Jayme Poisson: CFB Wainwright tragedy the final Alberta referendum push

It was the same fact free influencer misinformation rhetoric is the vacant view we had during the convoy occupation. We have a problem with foreign interference on internet platforms. It’s time they were taken down.

Awful people in Russia and the United States want to economically sabotage Canada. So they’re putting a lot of effort into tricking Albertans into voting to separate. It would economically DEVASTATE Alberta and Canada, and that’s just the start of the damage it would do. Much worse than Brexit.

Brent Toderian@brenttoderian.bsky.social

Don’t forget this. “Foreign actors are attempting to undermine Canadian interests by interfering in Alberta's separatist debate…” “Actors from Russia and the US are attempting to promote separatist ideas in what researchers behind the report described as a threat to Canada's democratic integrity.”
