Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine.

ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about? VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media

Such a good piece. I cannot really come to terms with how rare it is in journalism that Musk's action are being recognised for what they are. Few things have scared me more than seeing widespread active efforts to rationalise and deny Musk's expression of Nazi bigotry, in mainstream media

I wrote this about the media's first big test of Trump 2.0, and how poorly it scored. On the tedious, vital work of seeing what's in front of our faces for the next four years. www.irishexaminer.com/lifestyle-co...

Pin this, save it, we’ll need it. “When a prison camp opens in your town…when a DREAMer is disappeared from your classroom…when the President destroys what’s left of the Constitution…They will all say they didn’t know this was coming. And I want the American people to know that they did.” AOC 🔥🎯

AFR: oNly WaY AfTer yEarS of WarNInG This makes my blood boil. There is very, very little that makes me as mad as the supine weakness of politicians in this country when it comes to 'gas shortage'. This is state capture. Pure and simple. Another gift left by John 'children overboard' Howard #auspol

Yes you read that right - Australia is looking to IMPORT gas in 2026 - a move likened to “importing sand to the Sahara” If you are looking for a compelling example of how the major parties have failed us - this is it. 1/3 www.afr.com/companies/en...

afr.comTime’s up? LNG imports destined for Australia next yearAfter years of warnings, importing gas looks to be the only way left to head off an energy shortfall in Victoria, a move likened to “importing sand to the Sahara”.

Modern Monetary Theory (#MMT) explains money is created by govt, not tax "revenue" or "borrowing." Govts do not round up gold before they can spend. Inflation is controlled by managing economies, not superstitiously spending too little or raising rates to harm the economy and "cut demand." /1

The hatred & anger that tRump & Musk are stirring up, not just in America, but around the world will have consequences. I don't see either of these people seeing out the four year period, & when they go, they will probably take a lot of their followers with them.

Today the Coalition made clear if elected they would sack public sector workers, cut their pay & return to funnelling our money to the big consultants. We lose jobs, pay, expertise, services & money spent in local communities. Good for consultants profits, bad for the country

"Even before it makes landfall, the incoming regime is host to weirder bedfellows than a Mos Eisley brothel." 🤣 ... That's the problem, though. We'll laugh at these clowns while they steal democracy.

This is the problem with willy nilly support for Independents. Some absolute shockers might sneak through. People really need to think and investigate their candidates

"Policy analysts in Australia would be (and probably are) negligent if they’re not preparing policies that are strategically vital for the government" Surely, that can not be true.

Peggy Sanders@peggysanders.bsky.social

“Australia must be prepared to respond strategically to Trump to protect national security interests. Aust is hosting some US military bases that are strategically vital for US military preparedness in Asia-Pacific. They are bases that could become hostage targets by states at war with America.”

Temperatures going up? Fires, floods, cyclones? What to do? Wait... "kill climate reporting" Maybe better to dump these politicians and get some new ones who will care about people, climate and a better future. No-one is coming to save us but ourselves. #auspol #VoteClimate

The party that fights for Aussie flag thongs at Woolworths but is captured by foreign owned fossil fuel masters that pay no tax…patriotism at its finest

The key lesson absorbed by Dutton from Trump in the US. "The progressive side of politics will reliably observe the letter of the law as well as unwritten rules of decent behaviour, while the Trumpers push on insisting that no conventions, codes of conduct, or laws of the land apply to them" #Auspol

White shoe wearing ultra conservative QLD Liberals: That’ll teach those young kids! Kids: Why does the world hate me? Fuck it…treat me like a $&@? may as well be a $&@?.

Bridget Mackenzie says the LNP has long advocated for improving the Bruce Hwy in QLD. Only cause the PM committed Labor to put $5B towards the Bruce Hwy upgrade. Amazing how Senator Mackenzie didn’t enlighten us as to why the federal LNP did nothing about this, during 9 years of government???

It seems to me that the left has become obsessed with process - the means, while the right no longer gives a shit. Both sides are wrong. Process, governance, behaving decently matters, but so do results, outcomes & bold moves. We are polarised between the overly timid & the completely rogue

Its a pity this fine young man (who still looks to be a little blitzed TBH) has missed out on being US Attorney General He would have opened up all sorts of new and interesting interpretations of how the law could be applied Oh well, back to Elon, what's he up to? www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...

Peter Dutton is suddenly quiet on nuclear power. He knows he can ignore the CSIRO and economists. But not even the lame dickheads in the media will ignore the latest criticisms from his Coalition partners.

Well I'm shocked I tell you The judge has accused this nice old man of a “carefully crafted charade” He tried to cement "Lachlan, his oldest son and most likeminded child" into the controlling position in his little business One lifetime is never enough! #auspol www.theguardian.com/media/2024/d...

The Liberal Party is no longer a 'broad church' 'sensible centre' or even a conservative party. It's an angry men's club, serving its fossil fuels industry donors. Dutton's as ignorant as a racist One Nation candidate but bc he's OL, he's given credibility & media air time he doesn't deserve #auspol
