Pretty impressive the network didn’t suffer. Great post mortem!
That's some good smut right there.
Forgive me for what I am about to unleash... Paul and Daniel sat side by side in the dimly lit office, the soft glow of their computer screens illuminating their focused expressions. They were software engineers working late into the night, their passion for code fueling their dedication.
@pfrazee.com quick bug report, on web, search for anything, and while seeing the search results, click the search link on the menu.
I’m wonder how a multi-pds client could work. Something between nostr and bsky, but that would allow you to select which servers you post to. Once identity portability is a thing, what stops you from being in more than one pds at the same time? Is it just the plc directory or is there a repo limit?
Id prefer people didnt until we get better moderation tooling in place. Things that push boundaries before we’re ready for them just cost us extra time to deal with. Chan types will likely get pushed off into their own server with their own app views and labels, and that stuff isnt ready yet
Now that things are not as hush hush as they used to be, could we get a live stream with @pfrazee.com and @dholms.xyz ? Maybe once you guys are ready to share the federation design? cc @jay.bsky.team plx? 😍

Just like our approach to algorithmic choice, our approach to moderation allows for an ecosystem of third-party providers. Moderation should be a composable, customizable piece that can be layered into your experience. https://blueskyweb.xyz/blog/4-13-2023-moderation

Has anyone been to a dweb camp before? Trying to get a better understanding on whether it’s an actually tech event of more on the theory side of things. cc @pfrazee.com @why.bsky.world maybe?

> A powerful world government has scientists transported from an overpopulated earth to a satellite on the eve of their discovery of a method to modify the human embryo. Pretty sure if this book was written today it would have been “ai researchers” instead of biologists or whatever.

📢 Hey friends! We've got a Web app for you to try! https://staging.bsky.app/ This is an early staging build. There are lots of rough edges still and it only works on desktop, but it definitely works! Enjoy and let us know how it goes!

I wrote up some thoughts about how Bluesky can/should support OAuth, both for applications to access users' accounts, as well as allowing users to log in to their bsky.social account using their own website!
