Putin: “Russia is exploring the possibility of cooperation with the US in the Arctic.” Just a reminder of Trump’s lies that he wanted Greenland to keep Russia out of the Arctic.

"This was identified early on as the likely outcome." From the Spanish-American War to the Banana Wars, the heavy hand of US business interests has always influenced, if not outright controlled, US policy in the Americas.

In August, President Trump announced he had signed the “biggest oil deal in world history.” ProPublica reviewed the deal and found it gives a small group of people largely handpicked by the Trump administration long-term control of the enterprise.

The recent Starlink / Starshield incident in Ukraine has created a dangerous precedence for the US export industry, many haven't yet grasped. The sudden deactivation respectively curtailing of those systems without warning not only cost precious lives, but also equipment worth millions.

Whether it is Starlink, the F-35, Tomahawk missiles or HIMARS. All those systems run on software and in many cases can only properly operate with recent updates. You don't even need have a kill switch.

Trump and Musk have given the best reason why not to buy American. Customers - governmental and private alike - around the globe will take note of this and act accordingly, and I wouldn't be surprised if this won't be limited to US military products only.

Actually, positive change is slow, difficult and incremental by nature. Destroying is fast, building is slow. It is easy to bring misery to people - any idiot can do it, as Trump shows - but very hard to improve their conditions. Building a better society is slow, careful, patient work.

I definitely agree that we won in spite of ourselves. I expect the lesson that will be internalized is that we don’t need to take national security issues seriously.

PUTIN & XI WANT TRUMP IN SCHENZEN TO CARVE UP UKRAINE & THE WORLD Trump is unsure and if the midterms neuter him politically he may not go, knowing anything he says or does can be unreliable, not that thats stopped him before. The beauty is in investigating yourself. That’s how you control the branches of power. Lots of nations have gone through it. It’s nothing new. It’s not idiotic, nor stupid. You have you to see the tendency.

Are we allowed to treat this like a proper national security issue now that they’ve uttered the magic A word?

Russia and the US are discussing joint data-center projects that could use Russian nuclear power, according to Dmitriev. He said Trump and Putin are also discussing broader cooperation in the Arctic, LNG and other energy projects, with “important initiatives” potentially to be announced soon.

THE END OF THE LINE FOR AMERICAN MILITARY TECH The regimes choice to kill Ukrainians in their homes by disabling Starlink and preventing defensive drones to intercept incoming Russian weapons, has to be a line crossed, a step so far over what can be considered acceptable behavior by a supposed ally

Ukrainian media is reporting that there was no warning as ballistic missiles hit Kyiv. The damn air raid alert went off as missiles were exploding . That means Intel sharing has not been restored

This is pathetic. Ukraine tested Starlink speed restrictions in Europe and had no issues - the restrictions only exist in Ukraine. The Trump administration is actively helping Russia kill Ukrainians - and risking the lives of US and NATO advisors in Ukraine.

Every war begins long before the fighting. It begins with words, with skewed framing, with narratives that turn neighbours into adversaries and make division seem justified. Once conflict starts, it acquires its own momentum, often beyond anyone's control.
