NEW: Remedy's latest game, Control Resonant, is filled with art galleries. The galleries are filled with real art When I began talking to Remedy about it, I was delighted to discover who the artists are: many are the game developers' parents My story... www.gamefile.news/p/control-re...

gamefile.newsWho made the art inside Control Resonant? When the developers of Control Resonant needed to fill their video game version of New York City with art galleries, they tapped the talents of people they knew particularly well

"Leave tray in microwave for one additional minute" is a conspiracy by Big Microwave designed specifically to stop me from burning the roof of my mouth on my delicious salisbury steak

rolled credits on control resonant last night. has me re-evaluating my top-10 of all time. it fits in there well, but i don't know yet what gets removed. brilliant game. the late-game things are so incredible. every time i was like "this is the coolest thing in the game" there was something cooler.

Los Angeles friends! AniMarketPlace is a FREE event in Little Tokyo on Sunday, October 18th. I am a part of a Sanrio Bunny themed stamp rally with @sxkyu.bsky.social, rennatelier, and artsycece! We prepared some awesome goodies and hope to see you there! info & rsvp: www.animarketplace.org

The further I get into Control Resonant the more the game is cementing itself as a front runner for game of the decade The technical marvels. The writing. The gameplay. Nothing disappoints. Remedy please never stop innovating and changing your formula. You are a beacon of inspiration.

over the last few months, i decided to write by hand more. With work being hectic, my short-term memory's been suffering. Writing's helped immensely. I'm left-handed; I've never liked my handwriting. The fountain pen helps me relax, be methodical. Need lots more practice, but it's getting better.

i've found a new use for typing trainers, too - writing all the words by hand. I type fast - ~125+ wpn on a good day - but that just means typed text is fleeting, ephemeral. it never stays with me. Writing it all down means I don't even check my notes. I remember it all instead.

It's so funny how just finding the right tool, the right book on technique, and just taking the time to TRY again has fixed 25+ years of hating my writing. Left handed people aren't taught correctly. Right-handed techniques just don't work! Writing's so... personal. It's been a joy to rediscover.

Jake's post was the Rosetta Stone for helping me remember a YouTube video that's been stuck in my head and I could not find for nearly a decade (no exaggeration).

the duskbloods is so incredibly fun. nightreign but pvp was a great starting point and they made a ton of wonderful decisions in iterating on that core

I think part of the problem with the extreme proliferation of roguelike deckbuilders is that the structure seems to exist for its own sake It feels like colored keycards did in 90's FPS games: "We need a way to contextualize play and give it structure, and we know this works."

🎂 a relaxing one. i needed to catch up on sleep. aside from a nice dinner with my spouse, basically just rested all day lol. birthday cake is an uncle tetsu mini strawberry cheesecake this year. it's wonderful

Have you ever walked into a furniture store selling modern furniture and home decor cuz that's all they're selling for some reason lol

No fuck off we're not calling this "Millennial grey" this shit was dictated completely by boomer retiree house flippers we absolutely had NO say in this

I was feeling a bit nostalgic today for the game projects I worked on in college. Two of them are just lost media. Theyre not good but I care about them. I found the source code for one on my retired professor's github. If i want to revive it I have to update it to monogame - we used XNA lol

Hey y'all, I wanted give people a heads-up that Mike Z is still working on the Avatar Legends dev team, for anyone who wanted to know before deciding whether to buy/support the game. (If you don't know who that is or need a refresher, here's the Kotaku article: kotaku.com/workers-leav...)

kotaku.comWorkers Leave Skullgirls Developer Over Studio Head’s Behavior - KotakuBack in June, two people came forward to share their experiences with Mike “Mike Z” Zaimont, longtime fighting game player and lead developer behind indie

as someone who used to love mtg, and now mostly just engages in tiny infrequent ways, it's starting to frustrate me when i "lose" friends to the infinite vacuum that is magic. it is all-consuming as a topic. i adore the game, it's community, and the things i've done with and around it.

but getting new friends into magic is a death-curse for friendship. it becomes an identity so easily; it's not mine anymore. Listening to talk about their 14th edh deck they've built this week is just so tiring. in a sense, I recognize I've loved and lost, and I just feel jilted at this point.
