I basically just use my account as a way to keep track of cool stuff I like. So, if you like the sort of stuff I like, you'll probably like the stuff I (re)post!

The real unfair competition women are being forced into with men is having women's sports constantly separated off as a distinct event which is made to compete commercially with much better funded and socially and institutionally enfranchised men's sporting events & found inadequate by that standard

we've created a no AI notice to reassure people seeing our trailers and games with hand drawn lettering and a relaxing cute fox, and it's also up on itch in multiple formats* for anyone to use: eniko.itch.io/cute-fox-no-... *with/without fox, transparent/opaque, in 4k, 2160p, 1440p, 1080p, and 720p

I love being reminded that the audience really doesn’t give a shit about the developers. Like, forget that one of the most influential studios in our industry was just executed by its publisher, just make sure the product continues on the assembly lines!

After hearing news of BioWare's closure on Wednesday, over 75,000 Mass Effect fans have signed a petition demanding that EA put another studio in charge of the franchise or license out the IP. https://bit.ly/4siIubW

no one cares about trans women in women’s sports and you are, most generously, the worlds biggest idiot if you take it at face value as an earnest concern had by real voters

The fact that Tim, even when he was much younger, rebellious, and eager, could already not feel sadness for a beacon of game design & development innovation and creativity going under when he could back smugness with "economically realistic" explains so much of why Epic is where it is right now.

if you ever happen to see someone post a joke you don't understand or discuss a subject you aren't familiar with, you are well within your right to complain, and perhaps even scold them if necessary. you are their customer and you have rights

Anti-trans Democrats are spreading poison when we can least afford it, during elections in this ongoing fascist takeover. As a strategy, it’s a recipe for failure. As a moral stand, it’s reprehensible. PS I’m the father of young trans woman and I’ll never forgive anyone who makes her life harder.

It's so sad lol for years I tried to be like "Look if you want more options and if you wanna be nicer to devs, supporting Epic Game Store is probably a good thing" and my reward for this was just Epic constantly kicking themselves in the dick.

this also goes for indies btw, which is why the 30% cut steam takes is so egregious. that 30% is often the difference between one and done, or a studio that gets to make a second and maybe third game. and it would cost them literally nothing to take no cut for the first 100k, it's a rounding error

Most studios that generate an overnight hit are actually on the 3rd or 4th title. Blizzard, Larian, Arrowhead, these places had several games under their belts before their first true blockbuster. Like George RR Martin they had been grinding XP for years before becoming a household name.

First five #TTRPG in the order I played them 1. AD&D (2nd edition, I think) 2. D&D 3.X 3. C°ntinuum (briefly) 4. Mutants & Masterminds 5. Pathfinder 1E If almost-but-not-entirely-freeform RPs on forums counts, that's in there. By volume, I've definitely been stuck in the D&D mines, though.

I didn't notice this at first -- since I just tend to ignore AI-generated images -- but "The platform makes money either way [with allowing unlabelled generative AI work]" does explain why the Epic Games Store is so bad. "Who cares about quality? Hey, we're the middlemen. We make money regardless."

It is bonkers to me that Steam is able to get away with taking 30% off the top of (almost) every PC game sale simply because every single other company that wants to directly compete with them can't understand the idea of "customers like it more when things are high-quality and useful".

(Just in case anybody is wondering: I don't consider Itch and GOG to be direct competitors to Steam. They have their own niche which they fill well, even if it sometimes overlaps with Steam or each other. Neither are competing with Steam the same way the EGS tries to.)

i've become morrowpilled wherein rather than typing "where is molog mar" I went to joshua's rare books and spent 600 fucking septims on "Maps of Vvanderfall" then pored over it to find where the fuck Molog Mar is ...it's east of Suran

It always comes back to this for me; if AI was so good, such a disclosure would be a selling point. If AI was everything these slop jockeys said it was, they should be proud to let people know their game was AI made. But the proof is in the pudding, and they can't stand that people don't want it.

Democratic candidates doing anti-trans signaling is so baffling because even your voters who aren't naturally pro-trans are going to notice that all the people who are vocally *anti*-trans are also anti-Everything Someone Normal Who Votes Democrat Could Possibly Care About

bossk baby@bonnnt.bsky.social

found out that my mother in law decided she was aggressively pro trans rights literally by going, I don't know anything about this but everyone who is against trans rights is also against free school lunch, the issue I know and care a lot about, so this must be the correct way to feel about this

I have a theory that all "Great Men" of history can be sorted into either "and the device shows me boobs?" or "the moon in the fucking sky?" Lenin, Trotsky, Adam Smith, and George Washington are all "went to the moon?" Ben Franklin, Hamilton, Socrates, and Bakunin are instances of "shows me boobs?"
