Who said this?

The Moscow Times@themoscowtimes.com

BREAKING: U.S. First Lady Melania Trump said that a localized ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia has been expanded beyond Oleshky to allow safe passage for humanitarian supplies.

The numbers are insane also on other days. 25*365/21=430 pedestrian kids killed/year??? Compared to Sweden one has to scale a factor 30 due to population but its 2/year which scaled means 60/year so a factor seven lower

Katie Mack@astrokatie.com

A reminder, because it is almost that time of year: More children are killed by cars on Halloween than any other day of the year, by far. www.vox.com/future-perfe... If you're a parent, I hope you'll do what you can to keep kids safe. If you're driving on Saturday, PLEASE exercise extra caution.

Those mince pies are not sold anywhere else I think but what else? Carling beer. "Sunday roast" obv doesnt count thats the most global dish ever.

There's nothing wrong with bringing local dishes to peolle's attention. Calling for 'native cuisine' however is just stupid. Obviously dishes aren't 'born' anywhere. But, say, chinese or greek dishes sold in the UK usually cater to UK tastes & preferences 🤷

Now I actually clicked the article. It says "Why are people buying cheap food that is quick to make when they could buy expensive food that also takes ages to make" idk man its a mystery

On the Arab scientist discourse. There are obviously lots and lots of famous/successful/brilliant Arab natural scientists. They very rarely stay in Arab countries though. Clearly this is a loss for Arab countries and something they need to fix.

Brazilians recommending not to amplify right-wing talking points by dunking and quoting, as a winning strategy Next day, my tl is full of people dunking on rfk jr I literally would not have seen the bigotry if it wasn't for y'all repeating it. That's exactly what the Brazilians were on about!

People desperately want the opposite to happen w Europe getting colder but it doesnt instead its heating up faster than the global average

Ursula von der Leyen@vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu

Europe is warming at double the global rate. To become truly climate resilient, we need to adjust and learn along the way.

Netherlands boycott Eurovision! A few more countries and a non genocide endorsing Eurovision can be arranged!

The people in charge of money love fascism. This is a problem. Fascism leads to murder and worse lives for everyone. This is then s problem. Markets going up mean societies going to hell.

Kate Mackenzie@katemac.bsky.social

been wondering all day about why such an extreme sell-off in Brazil markets on Lula's victory, thankfully @johnauthers.bsky.social has unpacked - just how extreme it was (Black Monday / currency deval levels!) - maybe why it happened (tired int'l market risk perceptions?) - why it's unwarranted

Short term it is logical. Democracy and free market competition lower profit. Dictatorship and monopolies raise profits. But it does not work long term

I see junkie nepo baby antivaxx boy has produced another statement as dumb or possibly even dumber than his other statements.

Vance: "Remember in 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine and gas prices skyrocketed. They skyrocketed, by the way, far higher than they are today...They skyrocket every time some tin pot dictator decides to throw a tantrum."

She is totally telling a made-up story to sell her chatbot but *why* is the made-up story "I cant stand my kid. Honestly I detest the little brat"

It could have been "I was struggling to explain [thing] to my daughter but then I asked Chatbot and it really came up with a clear explanation of [thing]

Inte bara raist utan korrupt också. S måste rensa i det här träsket om dom inte vill fortsätta sin march mot irrelevans "Widar Andersson har tidigare varit ordförande för Friskolornas riksförbund. A weird change that has taken place in my lifetime is that in the past, British racists were aware of what mixed-race people were and were furious about it, as opposed to the New Racism, which frequently seems actively confused by the birds and the bees.

I remember many yrs ago one of my regular customers asked another of my regular customers "I seen you in Shields th other day with a couple of [racial slur] teenagers, what was that about that?" And the other guy replied "Do you mean my fucking grandchildren?" Never seen a man visibly shrink so fast

The news from Brazil and Serbia are great and show that you don't defeat the far right by copying it or trying to appeal to their supporters You do it by being uncompromising, showing the danger they pose and offering something different to the many crises people suffer from

Here's an idea for editors, let's do a little roleplay. Writer: "I have a contrarian take!" Editor: "Is it fucking stupid?" Writer: "Well yes, but it bucks the consensus. No one else is saying it." Editor: "Is that because the consensus is correct?" Writer: "... yes but... " <hang up>
