So this is what IGN management thinks of fair wages. #IGNLive

IGN Creators Guild@ignunion.bsky.social

IGN Entertainment is refusing to pay its workers the wages we deserve, even as we make #IGNLive the event that it is this weekend. So we left a message that can’t be ignored. And you should too. Let our upper management know that you support us by sending them an email here: bit.ly/4e2uUCP

Maaaaaaybe but LLMs hallucinate tons of shit and if you don't have domain knowledge (which is one big reason a writer might research) then you might not know what your LLM is making up. I tend to stick to primary sources whenever possible; I have a couple of decades of experience with Googling.

Scot Close@scotclose.com

If you include researching and editing as part of the overall process, there are LLM-based tools that can reduce your workload and leave more time for the actual writing. That’s why some people use it.

It was pretty cool for a community-funded, independent outlet like MinnMax to be invited on morning shows here in Minnesota to talk about Mario. Thanks for making this possible! youtu.be/ZRjDfRUSfFM

Happy one year anniversary to this post.

Kyle Hilliard@kylehilliard.com

Against all odds, @gameinformer.com is back! And so is everyone who was there when it was shut down last year. Most of us have been back full-time prepping to get back up and running since February 17. For those asking – yes, the print magazine is returning. Plans are already well underway.

In a 5-minute phone call to dispatchers, a federal immigration officer requests police backup last October to help with a kid tailing him on a motorized bicycle. "I need someone here now, or else I'm going to have to shoot this kid," the officer said on a recording of the call obtained by OPB.

There is no reforming this. There is only abolition, and then trials.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast. The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me. But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Gore Fucking Verbinski made an anti-AI movie that’s structured like Weapons meets Twilight Zone Critics will say it’s old man yelling at cloud-style satire. Ignore them! It’s like watching Werner Herzog parachute into the Google Cloud data center, wearing an EMP and C4

Slightly off topic, but my favorite Valentine’s date with my wife was when we were both in college (before we got married), and we didn’t really have plans so we decided to see if we could just walk in to Lawry’s and it was half empty because a bank had just been robbed down the street.

Popehat@kenwhite.bsky.social

This is an unapologetically sappy feel-good subject (at least, I guess, for people in a happy relationship”). So, to prepare for Valentine’s Day, what did you and your partner do for a first date? My wife and I went to tea at Huntington Gardens and walked around.

all those people complaining about a protest in church are going to rise up over this too right?

Today at school dismissal, I followed a suspicious pickup around for a bit, keeping an eye on them, trying to figure out if they were ICE. Then I realized they were keeping an eye on me also. Then I realized they were, in fact, other parents. Life in Minnesota, January 2026.

The @minnmax.com ICE OUT Charity stream with Giant Bomb was such a massive success. They raised an incredible amount of money, and I am happy I helped. They sent a code for Chicory for my donation, but I am honestly just extremely excited to see such a huge response for our community.

As a SoCal raised kid, Minnesota was one of the most welcoming places I’ve ever experienced. Snowmobiles, sushi, Thai food, samosas, hot dish from the neighbors, it was so much more metropolitan than what I expected. Yeah, it has its regressive parts, but the cities are the American dream.

Anat Shenker-Osorio@anatosaurus.bsky.social

This again is why Minnesota is nucleus of repression and the resistance. This largely white place - far from the "coastal elites" - has the nerve to attempt true multi-racial democracy, enacting progressive policies, having highest voting participation and quality of life indicators. How dare they.

I'm a resident of the Twin Cities. A small team and I spent 3 days sculpting this for a competition/festival in extremely cold temperatures. We were disqualified for political messaging and one of the organizers defaced it. I have no regrets and I have never been more proud to be Minnesotan. (cont)

It was SO cold but the sense of community was overwhelming. Every corner had people handing out hand warmers, warm drinks, and snacks to protestors. My toes were numb and my lashes were frosty but it's nothing compared to the pain our immigrant neighbors are enduring. MN Strong 💙

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi. He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael. At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk. Wael died on Friday at age 30. ICE caused his death. They didn’t get to say goodbye.
