Badenoch is not only confused, but profoundly ignorant. The Equality Act *does* have provisions on class - section 1 of the Act! www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/1... However govts - including the govt she was literally the *equalities minister* in!!! - have not applied this provision in England.

Badenoch: "As it happens, the Equality Act does not protect class, so you would not be able to use it to for white working-class boys" Interviewer: "Labour [the govt] want to extend it so that it does cover class: Badenoch: "This is just going to complicate things further"

What Reform did today was an incitement to rioting and an insult to a grieving family. This bloke should have hung his goddamn head in shame.

Well done @iandunt.bsky.social for not letting Reform cllr Alex Wilson take the high ground for what Farage did.

It's wild. We have so many real problems as a country, and instead a large chunk of our political class would rather hallucinate that one of the safest big global cities in the world is actually dangerous.

Zoë Crowther@zoecrowther.bsky.social

The "London = most dangerous place on the planet" discourse is still going strong on Twitter I've actually been surprised by how little I've felt threatened as a woman in London (having lived in Tooting and Peckham) I loved growing up in Nottingham, but I had much, much worse experiences there tbh

Starmer’s anti-asylum policies show how utterly clueless he is about the right-wing media’s role in politics. He’s trying to fix a “problem” contrived by Farage, GB News and The Telegraph. He’ll never win, because ultimately he’s fighting a ghost – he’s fighting something that doesn’t really exist

@UKLabour @Keir_Starmer What is wrong with you? Just appalling! You are losing the majority of the decent people in this country to cower to Reform racists. Truly disgusting. Massive mistake chasing people who will never vote for you anyway

Yes, because Badenoch’s was a criminal offence carrying a custodial sentence, whereas Reeves’ was not.

Javier Milei had to beg a bail-out and already needs another. Argentina's economy is in a tailspin. Gov't bonds and peso in freefall. People starving, throwing rocks at him. Farage last year: "He's amazing. It's Thatcherism on steroids. Cutting and slashing expenditure. That's leadership." SHARE!

Richard Tice during an interview "Keir Starmer literally used the words: take up arms and go for the enemy" What a lemon Firstly (& most importantly) he DID NOT say that. Secondly you can’t wang on about language you don’t like AND parade Lucy Connolly like a mascot. Make your mind up.

It seems unlikely that the richest men in the world are so worried about footing the bill for decent regulation of the online space that they’ve signed up pliant politicians to invent a non-existent ‘free speech crisis’. Until you remember just how greedy you have to be to become that rich…

It should be a source of shame and disgrace for the BBC, ITV and SKY as well as most MPs in the UK Parliament that it takes a US Congressman to call out Farage for the liar and traitor he actually is

This is very obviously going to be a protection racket, where Trump can at the stroke of a pen destroy or save your business depending on how compliant you are.

Exempting USMCA-compliant auto imports from tariffs would lessen the impact of Trump's trade war, sparing ~$122B in imports (~$170B if parts are exempted) But it just highlights the ridiculousness of this whole endeavor—why exempt cars but not oil, tomatoes, computers, etc etc?
