Neophyte. I saw Devil's Advocate in the theater and can still build myself into a spittle flecked rant about it.

People love historical what if scenarios. What if JFK was never assassinated? What if the Nazis won in WW2? A scenario I never see discussed is what if the aids crisis didnt decimate the gay men of America in the 80s-90s? Its easy to forget 1 in 15 gay boomer men died. An estimated 300,000 deaths-

Bonus answer: I have been thinking about this and have narrowed it down to three: Someone You Can Build a Nest In by @wiswell.bsky.social Swordheart by @tkingfisher.com King of Ashes by @blacktopkid.bsky.social

It was getting louder. At this point I am working frantically and my shoulders are up around my ears because I am expecting a hot feathery ball of mom rage to explode against my back at any moment. The last nut is freed and I pulled the cover off, making sure I held it between my face and the chick

because robins are dicks. I look over my shoulder and see a robin with a full on anger mohawk sprinting across the yard towards me. I fled. 6'2” man and I ran from a robin. And when I looked outside 15 minutes later? It was pacing the back yard still sporting that mohawk. She attacked me for months.

of days but I have worked hard at being less of an asshole so I grabbed a ratchet and a few sockets that were close in size and headed outside. The first socket worked and I tried to remain as far from the widow well as I could to remove the nuts. The first two came off without a problem.

About halfway through loosening the third but the fledgling started going ape shit. Just screaming and launching itself against the plastic cover that had it trapped. I worked faster because I didn't want it to hurt itself. I then realized that I was hearing an echoing call from behind me.
