Today, 62 former U.S. ambassadors and national security leaders endorsed my campaign for U.S. Senate. Their service spans five decades under Democratic and Republican presidents. Many were confirmed by Senator Collins herself.

I am delighted to have a new(ish) neighbourhood pharmacy owned by a young Nigerian-Canadian, where I could walk to get my vaccinations. I’m delighted to live in a neighbourhood where I can walk for dried figs and sumac. These aren’t things to fear. They are things to embrace. Well. At least for me.

Drone footage shows thousands of Israeli’s gathered in Tel Aviv for an antigovernment protest, three days before a general election widely viewed as a referendum on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Protesters demanded an independent commission of inquiry into the October 7 failures.

If a foreign leader in, say, the United Kingdom or Germany gave batshit crazy speeches featuring comments about a political ally’s ass, the New York Times would write a big story about the leader’s mental state. But when it happens in the U.S., the Times doesn’t. Why is that?

They both did it, it was a joint effort, it’s one of the crazier things to happen in the national security space (which is really saying something) and every government should be scrambling to reduce dependence on—and as soon as possible get off—Starlink/shield or any Musk product, including the US.

THEY ARE NOT POWERLESS TO STOP HIM! Go back to Washington, stand on the steps of the Capitol and demand Johnson and Thune recall the House and Senate, and impeach him. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! THERE IS LITERALLY AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL! (It's called the Constitution.)

Republican lawmakers are incensed about Trump's dismissal of Ukraine — and powerless to stop him. That frustration hit a new peak on Monday as they sought to address Trump’s decision to purchase Russian diesel, waive sanctions on Moscow, and potentially stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

Telegraph: The White House has blocked the transfer of Patriot missiles to Ukraine, US officials have said. The transfer of interceptor missiles from countries friendly to Ukraine requires the approval of Pete Hegseth. I’ve been screaming about it for years - you use/sell/donate US tech on US terms

Putin is probably intelligent enough to know that such a summit wouldn't bring an end to the war. But it could cause a major transatlantic rupture if Trump walks out with a Russia- and China-sponsored "peace deal" that Europe and Ukraine have to turn down.

Ambassador Ken Fairfax (ret)@portlandken.bsky.social

Putin is once again playing to Trump's ego and stupidity. Agreeing to a three-way "Yalta-style" summit would: 1) Fulfill Putin's dream of being recognized as one of three top world leaders. 2) Be held with the goal of carving the world into spheres of influence. 3) Be a disaster.

We have no explanation for why we were locked out for 4 hours today. We will be seeking answers. And we will be organizing for more than answers.

Why do all other powers keep doing whatever America wants? With everything that has happened and as crazy as Trump REALLY is, our leaders keep buying American military equipment, we allow the American military to blow up civilian ships, and we keep letting Trump dictate what is happening! WHY?

1. Russia is not winning on the battlefield and had to reform the entire budget in favor of the continuous war against sovereign Ukraine. 2. Zelenskyy has reacted favorably to any suggestion of a peaceful deal that would stop Russian aggression. Each attempt of such was declined by Kremlin.
