Another stunning defeat for a Trump-aligned right-wing leader in Europe. Serbian students voted out their authoritarian leadership after months of protests against corruption, taking their fight from the streets to the ballot box and turning people power into political power.

As long as we are talking about the appropriate use of the Power of Pardon. . .

A fire broke out at the retreat built for Adolf Hitler in the Bavarian Alps known as the Eagle’s Nest, and work to extinguish it was still in progress, police said. A person was detained in connection with the blaze.

Let's actually talk about what to expect after the election: First will be multiple, dozens, of DoJ lawsuits to hold and not count ballots. This will begin on election day itself and won't stop until sometime in December, so be prepared. Second are challenges to elections themselves, not ballots.

Sensei Ryan@horridpoplyrics.bsky.social

Non-Citizens don't vote. Constitutionally, they cannot vote. This is more posturing from the DoJ to feed their post-election lawsuits. And yes. There will be several dozen post-election lawsuits, all of them on shaky ground at best. www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...

These challenges to elections will be accompanied by "grainy" handheld video footage that purports to show a grand conspiracy, but is actually benign, like the Georgia Election Workers in the 2020 election. So, make certain to mentally note it, and who is sharing it, and move on.

Finally we will have the "protest" stage, in which violent mobs fomented by right-wing leaders attempt to overthrow the election. The planning for this is already underway in the fringes of the Republican Party, I assure you. They will overthrow the election by force if given the chance.

OK Everyone, calm down. The "source" for this map is "Instagram Followers." So, that is everyone's cue to simply take it, and throw it right in the trash where it belongs, OK?

As I said elsewhere, having seen the film and known about Musk, I don't believe he messed with the election. Like Trump, he is a self aggrandizing bullshitter who constantly lies and over promises (the doc emphsized this wrt to the fact no Teslas are really self driving). He could have influence..

This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

While the Iran war is extremely stupid, let's also take a minute to appreciate who stupid the war of 1812 was. Not only did the White House burn to the ground, but, it also gave us Andrew Jackson, a literal psychopath and genocidal maniac as President. So, perspective.

The mistake has become a source of humor both inside and outside the Pentagon, as the event is a perfect microcosm for the hypermasculine move-fast-break-things mentality that Hegseth has brought to the Defense Department—or the “War Department,” as he insists on calling it. trib.al/0oXYy1h

Hegseth’s staff broke Eisenhower’s globe. The symbolism is too much to bear. (And of course, they ignored the TRAINED EXPERTS WHO HANDLE HISTORICAL ITEMS. Because EDUCATION? EXPERTISE? WHO NEEDS IT?….im going to get some coffee…)

The Thin Red Line up to the point where the soldiers capture the hill is transcendent, alas from that point on the momentum and atmosphere feel like they sputter out. I still think highly of the film because the first section was so good.

We also should not underestimate as to what editorial say that private equity and the Saudis may have in these layoffs and closures now. EA has been adamant that it is making its own decisions, and since EA is continuing a clear precedent this closure, that could be true. Emphasis on "Could be."

We cannot deny that this axing of LGBTQ and feminine representation does not sting a bit more dearly when done with the Flag of the House of Saud on the horizon, doesn't it? Irrespective of what role it may or may not have played in EA's actions. [To be cont'd]

BioWare has been deeply troubled, perhaps even before it's sell-off to so-called "Electronic Arts." I am old enough to remember Bullfrog and Origin Systems being mauled and masticated by EA's sawtooth-grin, to name a few. EA is a death-sentence to game developers that it purchases. Much moreover

Moreover now than ever before, as in its leveraged buyback of its own stock, it is now deeply, deeply in debt to Private Capitol and the Saudi Arabian Cultural Fund. Depending on what one believes, sources vary from $15bn USD to $80bn USD. With EA now being held privately, we don't know.

This is devastating news. I remember visiting BioWare in Edmonton for a preview event of Neverwinter Nights in my early days at PC Zone. My thanks to all the teams who have brought forth such great gaming experiences over the years. A giant has fallen. 💔
