Nendel valimistel on üks küsimus, mis kaalub kõik üle: kuidas hoida ära Keskerakonna ainuvõim Tallinnas. Isamaa on ainus jõud, kel on reaalne võimalus seda teha – hoida Tallinn eestimeelse ja keelsena. Mina kandideerin Kesklinnas. Iga hääl loeb! 🇪🇪 Illimar Lepik von Wirén, nr 906 Isamaa

Peaministri majandusnõunik Hansson kirjutas hiljuti, et „käibemaksumäära langetamine ei too tarbijale kasu, vaid riigieelarvele palju kahju.“ Pareeriksin sellele seisukohale vastu: käibemaksu langetamine võib õigetes oludes tuua kasu nii tarbijale kui ka riigieelarvele. epl.delfi.ee/artikkel/120...

No, Arvo Pärt was not born in the USSR. He was born in Estonia in 1935 — a state that declared independence in 1918 and remained so de iure despite Soviet and Nazi occupations. Estonia was never legitimately part of the USSR. (Photo from a concert leaflet in London.)

Even after 107 years since the Republic of Estonia was established, I still meet people abroad who, when I mention I’m from Estonia, respond with, ‘Oh, ex-Russia?’ I calmly explain that Estonia is not ex-Russia, only to have them follow up by asking if Riga is the capital. 🫠

Between 25 and 28 March 1949, more than 22,000 people from Estonia, and nearly 100,000 people across the Baltic states, were violently removed by Russians from their homes and deported in cattle cars to Siberian death camps. Over 70% of those deported were women and children.

I believe that in the near future, Europe will experience a surge in plausible deniability incidents. They may appear to be accidents, but most will carry the unmistakable scent of Russian sub-threshold warfare.

A photo which I took on 16 March 2014, when Estonians came together at the Freedom Square in Tallinn to a support concert dedicated to the Ukrainian people and their bravery at Maidan. Two days later, Russia annexed Crimea.

“If the war in Ukraine does not end with the complete destruction of Russia and a new Nuremberg trial, a predator that has tasted blood will be left to roam freely in the forest.” — Former Prime Minister of Estonia Mart Laar

Today 81 years ago, Russia bombed Tallinn, Estonia. The first attack saw 300 aircraft drop 3068 bombs, 1725 explosive and 1300 incendiary. Ca 800 killed, of whom ca 600 civilians. More than 20,000 people were left without a shelter, while the military objects were almost untouched.

Day 1107 of my 3 day war. It is international women's day. I have deprived nearly 900,000 Russian women of intact husbands, brothers, fathers & sons. I remain a master strategist

(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

A Russian flagged cargo vessel is driving back and forth across C-Lion1 comms cable and Nord Stream disused pipelines since last night. She is 22 miles off the coast of Gotland and close to the only east-facing port facilities. There has been anti-naval activity N and S of the position during day.

I hope someone who is very shy on AIS are checking out the status of YANTARNY's anchors (or activities in general). About to cross C-Lion 1 for the fourth time. h/t: @claudialanz.bsky.social

Happy Stalin Death Day! When Stalin died on 5 March 1953, the Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians and others, who were either living under occupation of terror or were scattered abroad as refugees, celebrated for weeks. The world became a better place without a bloody dictator.
