I'm about a month away from hitting a big, big, super big deadline, which is always when I'm most likely to start dragging my feet. So I would like thank, from the bottom of my heart, Several youtube megadramas for choosing to unfold right when I needed the 8 hour commentary videos end over end.

I had a suspicion when I kept hearing upbeat bubbly women pitching 'the interests' of speculative markets and AI on NPR- (Which, bad. Bad NPR. I know you lost fed funding but jeez.) -But now I'm certain now that Techbros are actively pushing women out there to shill their snake oil.

A wrong lesson to take from the Brazilian elections is that voting can defeat fascism. That's not true at all. Democracy is an incredibly frail system and the US almost took over the country through it. ORGANIZED PEOPLE DEFEATED FASCISM

It's another day, so let's talk about this. First of all, Lula didn't win the election alone. He won because more than half of the country FREAKED THE FUCK OUT and built a popular movement that organized several actions both irl and online.

NEXT SUNDAY, LIGHTBOX PEEPS!! Come over to my book signing, it’s happening a couple blocks away from Lightbox Expo! 1-3pm on October 25th, I’ll have signed books at The Open Book in Pasadena (at the Paseo) 📚 👻

I'm so tired all the time and my tummy hurts no matter what I eat and I keep getting headaches- 'It's stress' ... ... ... Oh no. No. Don't tell me that. That's not something I can fix. Can't I just take a tums or something?

We knew this was coming, but it still hurts. This studio meant a lot (of different things) to a lot of people over the years, and my heart goes out to employees past and present dealing with big feelings.

More and more places are now using non-charcoal based food dyes and colorings, thankfully, but obviously check your meds, check interactions and be wary! 💖

PSA FOR THE GAYS (and others tbh) be careful this halloween season if your cocktails are colored black. they may be using activated charcoal, which will make several medications less effective, INCLUDING PrEP.

I think the Ellison's made a mistake with their stupid merger/owning Tiktok/consuming all media- -in that we all know their names now and that's a dangerous thing for families full of manchildren babies. The smartest thing a rich person can do is be unknown by the public.

I know journalists largely have no control over the headlines they get. And outlets just really super need the clicks. But man. Sometimes. (A lot more lately, it seems like.) I see a headline and go 'was there... NO other news?'

This is a thing I think about a lot, that your data (privacy, texts, DNA, voiceprint, image, all of it) are only as safe as your most credulous, least thoughtful contact makes them. Seems suboptimal!
