There was a brand new allegation that the president raped a woman in the 1990s yesterday and it appears to not be on the NYT homepage at all right now

Dave Levitan@davelevitan.bsky.social

It is short and so I assume they are looking into things but it is... interesting... that the NYT piece on the new House Dems report on Trump ties to Epstein simply does not mention the brand new rape allegation and says whatever this is instead www.nytimes.com/2026/10/26/u...

Some context around this, from a markets person. Historically in LatAm, leftist victories have led to sharp losses over the ~3 months after an election where the left wins. Stocks also typically underperformed into those victories. But 3y post-election, returns for leftists have been *higher*.

Lewis Wade 🗃️@wadehistory.bsky.social

It's very, very telling, I think, that the markets are so concerned about the pro-democracy incumbent winning

Any plan to pull America out of this ditch must treat the mainstream press like the Republican operatives their executives and editors have proven themselves to be

eh go fuck yourself. "be neutral on [insert interest] when you run and then stick it to the industry when you win" is a time honored way of actually getting things done.

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

We get similar emails at Bellingcat, usually from peolle who have been scammed and have asked ChatGPT for help.

Seems like ChatGPT encourages people to contact journalists to solve their personal tech problems: „Last night, someone emailed me (…) asking for an “independent investigation” into why their Verizon cell phone service wasn’t working on their iPhone.“ #aislog www.404media.co/chatgpt-keep...

Liberals elevating bait is a big part of the conservative ragebait economy, you do not actually have to respond to anything and in fact, the other side is explicitly betting you will.

I've done my fair share of it in the past so my hands are far from clean, but given where we are, ask yourself if 2017 posting is really the best use of your time and if you have a big account, ask yourself ultimately who you're benefiting beyond yourself and the person making $ off your rage clicks

A lot of people need to slow down and acknowledge to themselves that they're afraid, and this is affecting how they are interacting with other people. You have to acknowledge the reality of your feelings, or you won't control how they shape your behavior.

Just to try and pre-emptively stem the tide, a lot of people here are going to be posting the $66bn "loss" which is almost entirely about convertible notes and not the $1bn operating income which is the first cashflow positive quarter ever

It is atrocious we have to operate under this constant credible and explicit threat from one political party, the fact we keep calling it a “free and fair election” needs some light revising

Andy Craig@andycraig.bsky.social

Yes. My median scenario is Trump rants, it becomes their talking point, DOJ probably files some more junk suits like these, but then not much else happens. There's real risk of worse, some full push to go insane on Jan 3, but more likely it doesn't get that far, and also that would still fail.

Harrison Butker (Kansas City) ranks dead last in field goal pts over expected at -7.69, behind Trey Smack -7.28 (Green Bay) & Harrison Mevis -6.87 (Free Agent) Leaders: Will Reichard +9.47 (Minnesota), Chase McLaughlin +8.78 (Tampa Bay) & Ka'imi Fairbairn +8.56 (Houston)

Broncos winning and the Chiefs losing on my 40th birthday is such a wonderful present from the universe. Butker missing a kick that ended the game is a literal cherry on top.
