Would love to meet creative folk here, so here's an 🦋 Intro Post 🦋 I’m a TV writer and I’ve been lucky enough to write for Netflix, Disney+, BBC, Cartoon Network, Nick and more! I’ve written on 3 shows that are coming out soon(ish). All of them are under NDA so you just have to trust me, OK??

New shooowww! 🚨🚨🚨 Very excited to see that Hyperlight has been announced by the BBC. Writing on this was a total joy. It has epic sci fi stories, big battles, teen drama… everything you could want! I can't wait for people to see it!

Super proud of @benjibpm.bsky.social for getting a Fringe First as part of Hannah Maxwell's show "Turn your f*cking phones off". Benji composed the music, designed the lights, video, sound, production managed it... a multi-talented man. So well deserved - incredible show! tinyurl.com/4fputu8s

The 5 Simpsons lines I’ve uttered most off the top of my head: 1. *Reads gym sign* A gime? What's a gime? *Goes in* Ohhhh, a gime. 2. You don't make friends with salad. 3. To alcohol. The cause, and solution to, all of life's problems. 4. Lousy Smarch weather. 5. The worst day of your life so far.

The 5 Simpsons lines I’ve uttered most off the top of my head: 1. And that little boy, who nobody liked, grew up to be... 2. Ah Lisa, that's just a load of rich creamery butter 3. Oh, I'm not a doctor 4. I needed those. I really did 5. He wore sneakers! For... sneaking!

it's done... my tax has been made digital. But at what cost?* *£1.60 a month on Xero's Simple Plan, upping to £7 in six months, plus the cost of an hour long call with my accountant to learn how to use this new programme WHEN IN THE RECENT PAST WE COULD INPUT THIS SAME DATA INTO HMRC FOR FREEEEEEE

me pitching to the exec "we open on an evening spread against a sky and then cut to a patient etherised upon a table" exec: "interesting, interesting. The antagonist?" me: "it's daring, but I'm thinking a peach"

Tinfoil hat time... I think OpenAI exaggerates these kinds of things in order to make its product sound more intelligent and advanced than it actually is. For investment. "oh wow it's gaining sentience... it truly is a revolution... no one has any idea what it is capable of... pls give us money".

*A well rehearsed, tightly written scene with punchlines and pay-offs, and good comedic acting that is well rehearsed* Instagram Reel: "This is actually all improvised 🥰, the reactions here are genuine, the actors had no idea he would say and do that"

The question for Nigel Farage now is whether it's less embarrassing to un-resign and claim that was an establishment stitchup, or to spend a month competing with a bin. Neither is exactly a *great* option. Neither solves his ongoing scandals. And it's a mess entirely of his own making.

The instinctive reaction right now is lazy, sleep-walking cynicism, or sullen don't-give-me-hope despair. But the truth is: someone with very good communication skills, the right diagnosis and a reforming zeal is about to become prime minister. That seems pretty fucking encouraging to me.

And this is now out! The whole series of 22 episodes is on Disney+. I was fortunate enough to write four of them, and I'm so excited for people to see the finished show!

So excited to share the trailer for The Doomies, which will be out on Disney+ on 26th June! Getting to be one of the writers on this show was some of the most fun I have had (comedy horror, the dream!) and I can't wait for people to see it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjxJ...

Guess where I am going tomorrow! Annecy Animation festival gonna be a scorcher this year

France will be at the epicenter of the most significant heat anomaly on the planet over the next few days. The sheer extent of the country that could experience temperatures above 40°C is nothing short of astonishing.

I like that “Widow’s Bay” is from a “Parks and Recreation” writer and answers the question, “What if they made a whole show out of the Pawnee City Hall murals?”

everyone is always like "in animation you must be able to write anything", meanwhile I am currently writing the "everything set in one location with the main cast only and strictly using props already built" episode

I know it's important to push back against these kinds of people, but there is wisdom in this reddit post:

we appear to have four competing fascist movements jockeying for control: blood & soil nazism under miller and hegseth, darwinian ecofascism from rfk, technofascism under vance and musk, and one Big Wet Hitler who understands the true animating core of the american volk is a deep love for shopping

always worth carrying water for Trump, who is sure to show loyalty to those who go out on a limb for him

NEW: Donald Trump has said that Keir Starmer took “far too long” to allow US to use UK bases to carry out strikes on Iran. UK initially denied US permission to conduct strikes aimed at regime change from bases incl Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford, citing international law.

This is what we’re doing. Because it’s kind of impossible to make scripted podcasts any other way. Believe me. This could be the future…

Lead Mojo@leadmojo.co.uk

Let’s talk about Smelt! We want to make an always-on podcast channel made up of multiple short-run scripted comedy series. This is because making a new channel for every series is a huge barrier to getting traction and attention, so we want to build an audience of people willing to try new things.

They better do this. It has become very silly. And service charges too. Just gouging

Pippa Crerar@pippacrerar.bsky.social

NEW: Angela Rayner urges Keir Starmer to stick to pledge to cap ground rents for leaseholders in England & Wales, as cabinet divisions come to head She intervenes in tense standoff between housing sec & chancellor over whether to stand by promise to limit annual charges for existing l'holders.
