Kemi Badenoch tells the BBC's Matt Chorley that if she were prime minister, Donald Trump would simply not be like this.

Which is exactly what Trump said about Putin Based on what we have seen, I certainly don't think Trump is going to have more respect for a black woman that he does a white man

Daft git Kemi. If Kamala had won there wouldn't be a war over Greenland and NATO wouldn't have a King George III aping despot in its midst throwing tantrums over a prize he feels entitled to.

She and her party couldn’t control Boris Johnson and he’s chicken feed compared with Trump If Kemi wants to admit like her party she loves Moscow, wants to screw over Zelenskyy, allow a Board of Peace (she would join it wouldn’t she 😂) then just say so

"...clearly a state visit is not enough..." what is she planning to offer him?! I'm sure he'll soon be arguing that Bermuda is crucial to US national security, should we just give him that before he demands it?

Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre has said essentially the same thing in the past. Absolute nonsense. Anyone who hasn't figured by now that mewling compliance (which is all Poilievre, and presumably Badeonch, have to offer) is a path to ruin is a fool.

Says the woman who lost key cabinet colleague all of 5 days ago then after declaring with 100% certainty no Tory mp would be defecting lost one such within 24 hours. If Chorley had any credibility he’d have laughed in her face

It’s good that she has full knowledge of what’s going on behind the scenes in the government. Shame that her own MPs continue to blindside her.

Kemi Badenoch makes it all about her. I do not, for one picosecond think she truly believes she could single handedly tame the lunatic. But for some incomprehensible reason she thinks we believe she could have

These people (not just her) are not patriots. Dangerous idiots with delusions of their own grandeur and importance, perhaps. Subservient cheerleaders for a venal administration, absolutely. Patriots? Emphatically no.

This is the idiocy that has left us where we are. Everyone thinks they can influence Trump because they think they can appeal to his vanity….

Loath his as I do Trump also has some evidence of success before politics (if badly scarred by repeated bankruptcies and very possibly aided by dodgy practices). Whereas Badenoch has so far achieved 7/8 of sod all.

excited to learn that when he's going to Davos, she would be going to Washington for an audience with a president who is not in fact there. I mean it would definitely beat the queue that was waiting for him, in Davos.

If she was PM (and I'll suppress the urge to laugh) then Trump would be describing her as "low IQ", because that's how he describes all black women. If she hasn't yet figured out that the white supremacists now inside the White House aren't her friends and never will be then there's no helping her.

I mean, seriously, where has she been for the last 14 months? Trump doesn't listen, he doesn't care what you say, he doesn't keep his word. But somehow, she, and she alone will get him to change his ways.
