The desperation by those on the Right to smear Angela Rayner is wearing thin🙄 And no - don’t bother replying UNTIL you’ve read the thread! I’ve trawled through multiple versions of this “story” in the Telegraph and Daily Mail to try and piece together what’s going on! 🧵1/17

✅ Vote YES on 50! The fight for fair representation is national. While states like TX, FL, & NC use partisan gerrymandering to rig elections, CA is fighting back. Prop 50 lets us level the playing field and counter their maps. It’s a strategic necessity to protect our voice in Congress. #YesOn50

It bothers me that today I had to point out… To former Tory MP @PhilipDaviesUK That the Hillsborough families invoked the ECHR in their fight for justice Because he, like so many, either doesn’t know …or is being disingenuous about the vital protections the ECHR affords us.

What’s missing from the story is perspective - in July this year bills came down by over £130 a year - nearly £3 per week. So this 30 quid increase still leaves bills 100 quid lower than they were in July…..

They’re all the same - Cllr Bloom (Lloyds & Corby Old Village) has today left his role following accusations he used the ‘n’ word against a black family who live close by to him He had been in post for just under 4 months after he was part of Reform’s council-winning team in May’s local elections

Perhaps rather than endlessly promoting Mr Farage, the national media could highlight what his local councillors are doing - as demonstrated here by @northantstelegraph.bsky.social www.northantstelegraph.co.uk/news/people/...

Why, you might ask, do the BBC and Sky News, casting their editorial guidelines to the wind, keep giving massive airtime to the far right, while shutting out leftwing voices? Don't their bosses understand the likely consequences? Only one explanation now remains. They do. And it is what they want.

Those Reform nutjobs reminded me: "Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, grabbing an Indian curry or Turkish kebab takeaway, then going home to sit on Swedish furniture & watch American shows on a Japanese TV, while being suspicious of anything foreign."

Farage leaving the ECHR would take away YOUR right to ... 🔥 A fair trial 🔥 Fair laws 🔥 Protection from execution 🔥 Protection from discrimination 🔥 Protection from torture 🔥 Protection from slavery 🔥 Freedom of speech 🔥 Freedom of lifestyle 🔥 Freedom to decide if you want or don't want children

So if I get this right the media are moving to benefit claimants. There’s a story of the £100k family doing the rounds. Now they’ve got you riled up about hotels and asylum seekers, they’re coming for you. Don’t say you were not warned. You’ve been conned. Big time.

Britain’s enduring need for migration If we can accept Britain has a long, well-documented history of relying on outside resources, it shouldn’t really surprise us that we as a country still do What is surprising is how little honesty there is about why migration numbers are currently so high

eastangliabylines.co.ukBritain has never stood aloneFrom Empire to the NHS, this country has always relied on outsiders. The real crisis isn’t migration – it’s dishonesty

The people who reflexively say that everything happening in the news every day is just a distraction from the Epstein files are allowing themselves to get distracted by the Epstein files from many other things that are incredibly important also.

This is so important… Sharon has been tracking license plates on cars driven by ICE agents, and she’s finding they don’t match the vehicles. In other words, ICE is using secret, illegal tactics—just like we suspected. REMINDER: the DMV is not a federal agency. @governor.ca.gov 🧵

The hypocrisy of the far right is off the scales. In fact, if you look at the criminal convictions of those arrested at riots, the number with convictions has been around 40% on avg and it was 68% in Bristol.

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice. It doesn't have to be this way.

Not everything is a "distraction" from Epstein. Some of this is just fascism, and it's playing out exactly as they promised it would. You may see the advantage of keeping focus on the Epstein story. For good reason. But there is another thing we can't lose focus on, which is the fascism itself.

American corporations are on pace to spend $1.1 trillion on stock buybacks in 2025, an all-time high. Buybacks don't create more jobs, increase wages, or grow the economy — but they do help juice CEO pay that's often tied to stock performance. Nothing trickles down to workers.
