hey, indian here, gandhi sucked ass. his slavery to "non violence" against a hitlerlite regime was bad

Sandy Hendry@sandyhendry.bsky.social

Martin Luther King was much more successful than Malcolm X for example. Before that, there was no need for a bloody civil war in most countries that abolished slavery. Just votes. Independence can also be bloodless. Gandhi in India, Walesa in Poland, Mandela in South Africa. The list is long.

Just got all my boys together to take on the wandering ronin who came to town. There’s like 15 of us and only one of him so pretty much the only thing that would give me any pause is if he was master of the devastating and lightning-fast iaidō style. But that’s not likely. Apparently, to Republicans, Los Angeles is both a godless land of queer liberal degenerates beyond any hope of salvation and a place that would totally vote for a MAGA mayor to lead if or else things are clearly rigged. Make it make sense.

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

"BARELY ANYTHING is explained by class conflict," my brother in christ, are you seeing the consolidation of the American capitalist elite around a fascist dictator?

"Socialist economic policy without the social justice stuff" is never going to work because it's inconsistent on a principle level. You can't have an economic policy built around equality except without addressing long-standing demographic power dynamics.

the financial times, a bourgeois newspaper, asks why "socialists" must be "woke". unintrested in the outcome, it is like asking a marxist why they believe in equality of employment by sex? it's because all of this sexist/racist/phobic shit is downpoured from class society. M&E would tell you this.

All the social-chauvinists are now “Marxists” (don't laugh!)

Newsom: "Capitalism as we know it? Not gonna work. As we know it -- it doesn't. Seven states still pay $7.25 minimum wage. We printed that first trillionaire ... I think our party needs to call that out. Concentration -- we need to call that out."

Hegemony refers to the dominance of one group over another, maintained through legitimizing norms and ideas. The term originates from the Greek word for "dominance over" and was discussed by Antonio Gramsci, who explored how capitalist states maintain power through consent rather than coercion

3. It's strange that discussions of Winston Churchill's flaws don't include the fact that he, who once crossed the floor in anger over antisemitic immigration laws, became a raging antisemite after the Bolshevik Revolution, hiding Denikin's pogroms and spreading "Judeobolshevism" before Hitler did.

to add to that, most of the conclusions these people end up making: ie, making businesses more profitable, more healthy, less labour costs/input costs etc directly benefit the capitalist shareholder class at the expense of the workers

The left isn't anti-expertise, quite the opposite, we just (correctly) observe that if your education is in economics or public policy in "the West," you aren't an expert and your brains have been crammed with extremely-ideological bullshit.
