First Orban, now VučiΔ‡. Both fundamentally undone by rank corruption of their regimes. Which is so often the reality of the authoritarian right in power. Really worth paying heed to in Western Europe right now

Wow. VučiΔ‡ has conceded Serbian election. Massive moment for the entire Balkans

I’ve been putting this off because so many of my early games were homebrewed protean affairs and it’s hard to get the chronology right in my head, but I *think* it is: 1. Advanced Fighting Fantasy 2. Star Wars 3. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4. Conspiracy X 5. Vampire: The Masquerade

Malcolm Craig@malcolmcraig.bsky.social

The "first five RPGs you played" thing is really taxing my memory beyond the first two. 1) Twilight 2000 (1st ed) 2) Traveller 2300 3) Traveller (blue book - I know for sure this was the first game I ran) 4) Cyberpunk (black box) 5) Shadowrun (1st ed) Lots of SF in there!

I know the Cubicle 7 explanation is getting a lot of traction, and is still the most likely, but I’m sceptical. I just can’t see a product getting to that stage without legal kicking the tires on it, or big Space Marine being perfectly happy to take the hit on a breach of contract.

Tabletop Minions@tabletopminions.bsky.social

β€œHowever, there won’t be a Roleplay expansion. After careful consideration we’ve decided to focus our efforts on providing even more great minis for the core game.” Uh huh. β€œCareful consideration.” Something they’re CERTAINLY known for. www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articl...

Like I say, it’s still the most likely explanation. And maybe the share price drop suggests, actually, Big Space Marine would rather not pay a big ol’ settlement for riding roughshod over a contract.

The Women’s Rights Network are now attacking the mental health charity Mind for supporting trans people with their mental health during a time of unprecedented attacks on their rights. These are the β€œlegitimate concerns” β€œworthy of respect in a democratic society” the Labour Party has normalised.

Visited a familiar courtyard in Nottingham city centre. In 1987 Richard Ellard took a staff photo of the Games Workshop Design Studio team who were based at Enfield Chambers. It’s changed a bit, but not entirely!

You should back this. I've got an article in it. Those two sentences may or may not be connected.

Trying to lock in the Kickstarter rewards and I’m genuinely unsure what I should do? Stick with prints and stickers? Do more t-shirts?

We are officially set up for Tyneside Games Expo - and I know, the T has dropped off my sign 😭 Would love to see you this weekend, so swing on by Gateshead International Stadium and say hi! #ttrpg #ttrpgcommunity

This is gutting news. Osprey made some of my favourite games of the last decade - Brian Boru, Crescent Moon, Undaunted: Stalingrad - and looked like they had plenty of momentum, too. I’ll miss them, as will the pages of @senetmagazine.bsky.social.

BoardGameWire πŸ”œ Spiel Essen@boardgamewire.bsky.social

UK-based Osprey Games has let go of its entire board and card game development team and cancelled its booth at the upcoming Spiel Essen game fair - five months after parent company Bloomsbury began searching for a buyer for the operation: boardgamewire.com/index.php/20...

The speed with which this has gone from β€œpffft goes without saying” to β€œoh, shit, we need to say it” is dizzying and depressing.

Had a big old think about it and have come to the conclusion that we should have more followers on here, like 20,000 more perhaps, something like that would be a good start anyway
