While hunting around trying to figure out how to delete my creator pages on Facebook, I dicovered that I was listed as bigender instead of nonbinary. I don't particularly remember selecting either on their. I wonder if this is similar to FB labeling me Extremely Liberal. 🤷

The elections are on next Tuesday, and so much is at stake, including the soul of the Democratic Party when it comes to transgender people. I am asking you to leave a very small number of races blank in which a Democrat has embraced extreme anti-trans hate. I make my case here.

erininthemorning.comDon’t Vote For The Worst Anti-Trans DemocratsThe Democratic Party should, and likely will, win big in the midterms. We must not send the worst anti-trans voices to join them.

In a world that wishes you to be small and quiet, the bravest thing you can do is take up space and use your voice. If you’re in the US, remember to vote early or in a week. It will take all of us, but we are enough.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Recently picked up "chili lime" flavored gummies at the dispo... I was expecting them to taste like chili. And lime. They taste like artificial cinnamon and genuine regret.

Hey, #catsky I needed to tell everyone that Poirot, our grey tuxedo cat, knocked the treat jar off the counter, STOOD UP to brace the jar between his hind legs, and tried to unscrew the lid with his front legs and teeth. His little grey cells are very active!

Some cities it's just not worth fucking with

I read through my guide after posting this. They give detailed information about how to vote, and about the propositions on the ballot, but not the candidates this year.

We went to Hell's Kitchen for our anniversary dinner. We had reservations and dressed up. They were having system issues and there was a delay in seating for everyone with a reservation. The hostess then asked if there were any allergies, and seemed to bristle when I said pork...

Then she sarcastically said "Is it ACTUALLY an allergy, or just a preference?" I get this all the time. People think I am being dramatic about dietary restrictions. I was bitten by a Lonestar tick when I was a teen. I am genuinely allegic to pork.

We agreed that she was having a day from hell and would forget us once we left. But don't be a jerk about people's allergies. People can be allergic to all kinds of things. Our server, the food, and the ambience once past the host kiosk were all wonderful.

One was apparently a professor, and was talking about how he put his anti-AI female students in their place and "won the argument" and the other guy was cheering this on. The thing is, these slopaholics were speaking in the way I have heard 🍇ists speak. It's about causing harm for them.

I currently have tomato soup simmering on the stove. The tomatoes, peppers, basil, and parsley all came from my own garden. The house smells amazing!

There were some botlickers in the seats in front of my on the train today. They were bragging to each other about how peoploe "couldn't hoard creativity" and other nonsense slopaganda. They were excited about art, books, film, and coding done with AI, and were talking at FULL volume.

The entire point for these clankers without a conscience was that they were taking what they wanted and doing something that was upsetting "these girls who are into Medieval things." They were getting off on hurting people.

Well, you can tell that I, a human who cares about humanity, was upset about these absolute creeps because my post is full of typos. I hope the slopagandists, sloperators and slop-fluffers all have a very terrible day.

When I worked at a diner, I once had a woman angrily tell me she didn't want any eggs with her meal when I took the order. I did not bring eggs. She screamed at me for not bringing eggs. The manager screamed at me for not bringing eggs and cut my shift short. You can't win in service.

If you ask for black coffee and the cashier asks if you want cream or sugar I promise it's not because the cashier thinks you're stupid or because the cashier is stupid. It's because the cashier regularly has to deal with people who ask for "black coffee" and then complain there's no cream or sugar

There is NO way that any adult doesn't know about the plagiarism, the environmental impace, the raised cost of power, the communities harmed by datacenters, or the utter destruction to the job market. They didn't care. They were excited to take someone from people who had what they wanted.

I'm in that strange liminal space where I have just finished the first draft of a story and need to step away for a spell before I edit it, but I also am not ready to start writing anything else.

My WIP is about a murder of crows interacting with a family of humans. I'm almost finished writing this one. Having cats in the house again is a balm to the soul. #amwriting

Watching a hotel documentary, and the host said that the staff were dedicated to "fluffing their guests" ... I know what that means in American English. I am assuming it means something else in British English?

I really need to sort out why the bsky app keeps crashing on my phone, because I much prefer having this social in my pocket than any of the others.

We watched Death of a Unicorn tonight. I had no idea what to expect, as I had only heard the title and hadn't seen a trailer. It was very gory and highly amusing.

Delighted to share with you all that the last case heard by the High Court of Chivalry was in 1954, and that it was Manchester Corporation vs. The Manchester Palace of Varieties, and that they had to determine whether the court was still legally extant before they could hear the case itself.

Anyone else noticing the sudden surge of memes and posts about how GenAI=bad but other AI=amazeballs? Dozens of sites and pages wheeling out the same slopaganda in the same week. Trying to use the disability community as a prop claiming we need it, when it's actually gutted remote work. Gross.

Moment of pure delight this week: Our new blue tuxedo cat, Poirot, was having so much fun with his wand toy that he grabbed it and haughtily pranced up the stairs with it. Our grey and cream tabby, Hastings, happily followed, swatting at the wand. #RescueCats
