What is the point of having more money than God if you have to grovel like a pathetic toady to this president’s every stupid brain fart?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

BAIER: The president says 'SI.' Are you into SI or AI? BEZOS: I do like SI, because 'artificial' is not a very flattering thing. Like, nobody wants an artificial sweetener, artificial flavoring.

This clip is such a wild contrast with common parental concerns about the explosion of screens everywhere, including in schools. It’s on par with Jensen Huang’s recent comments about basic math skills “not mattering” in the age of AI. These ideas aren’t just out of touch. They’re diabolical.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Linda McMahon: "AI is definitely a tool used correctly. I've seen it in action. I have visited the Alpha School in Austin, Texas, where they use AI for the first two hours every single morning. The students have their headsets on, they are watching their computers ... it is incredibly effective"

Even George “it’s not a lie if you believe it” Costanza would struggle with this level of bullshittery.

Trump: "You got me for nothing. I don't take my salary." (Trump has made billions in crypto schemes while president)

Sure, the 2024 election was one too, but 2026 might be the clearest intelligence test ever presented to the American electorate. Taken at face value, he's saying he stole hundreds of billions from the gov't, hid it somewhere Congress can't reach, and he pinky swears he will give you a piece. Really.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Because of tariffs, we are taking in hundreds of billions of dollars of profits. It's one of the reasons I can offer, if Republicans win the House and Senate, $5,000 to every adult. We can do it and the Democrats can't, because the Democrats don't have any income."

This is all very bad, but my barista shared her pronouns earlier this morning and I now feel that I have no choice but to support the administration.

this morning finds the national average at $4.472/gal and is expected to rise into the day as further increases get passed along. diesel also continues to climb at $6.441/gal and could rise to nearly $6.50/gal by EOD.

21 days before the 25th anniversary of September 11th, the United States imposes 50% tariffs on the country that gave its citizens refuge during the worst terrorist attack in US history.

A bunch of cops cheering at a political rally — in uniform — as the president and AG endorse a candidate and attack their political opponents is not normal. And it is not okay.

I'm sure there's a very secure bathroom at Mar-a-Lago where the President can keep the master list. Maybe he can hide it in a Ziploc bag inside the toilet tank.

Cheryl Rofer@cherylrofer.bsky.social

A master list of spies is a bad idea, even if we grant good faith to Trump people. Which we shouldn't. But a single list is more easily compromised than partial lists distributed across the agencies. Accidental disclosure = all these carefully tended resources are lost. And some will be killed.

The thing you need to understand is that there are 2 (TWO) different method for amending the constitution 1) The process laid out in the constititon itself (conventions, or 2/3's of both houses followed by 3/4 of states ratifying) OR 2) find five votes on the Supreme Court.

It’s been five years since Alex Jones lost InfoWars to the Sandy Hook families. As the verdict came down, he asked: “Do these people actually believe they’re getting any money?” He hasn't paid them a penny. Well, The Onion is going pay them anyway. The new InfoWars begins July 2nd at 8 p.m. ET.

ms.nowThe Onion says it won’t wait for the courts, will launch Infowars to pay Sandy Hook familiesThe Onion’s staff is tired of waiting for the courts to settle its pending takeover of Alex Jones’ brand, so the new Infowars will launch next month.

I'm worried China might kidnap all these people and demand that, unless America pays a trillion dollar ransom, they'll send them all back to us.

New euphemism for "pure, unadulterated horseshit" just dropped

"...they determined, because of the exquisite intelligence that we had..." I remember the post-9/11 assessments of U.S. intelligence capabilities. Analysts then said that our intel was inadequate to anticipate mid east terror threats. What happened between then and now to make it "exquisite?"

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"You can assume, because it's common sense" -- Mike Johnson claims Trump's war on Iran is actually defensive because if Israel attacked Iran, Iran was going to retaliate against the US

Short answer: nothing. If anything, our intelligence apparatus is now worse, thanks to this administration's indiscriminate cuts and firings and its overfocus on immigration enforcement. Mike Johnson is selling a bridge to nowhere. Why stop at exquisite? Did he run out of fine corinthian leather?
