This person is insane! Dried meat has been protein for thousands of years. The indigenous peoples of the Plains made pemmican, a mix of beef tallow, meat and berries. This traveled well and kept them nuorished

I have celiac so rarely risk eating in a restaurant I am not familiar with. Beef jerky and protein bars are always in my purse when I’m travelling. Although I understand it’s processed and high in sodium, it fills in perfectly when 100% gluten free is not available.

They don’t want people who live in food deserts to be able to use SNAP at convenience stores.
