Trump is not merely, corrupt, cruel, racist, crude, malicious and incompetent. He is increasingly insane. Everyone needs to start facing this reality and its wider implications.

Selling out Ukraine to side with Russia in order to marginally reduce the negative impacts of his dumb war with Iran

Kyle Cheney@kyledcheney.bsky.social

The United States is now importing fuel from Russia, per President Trump.

Absolutely shameful. Whatever has happened to the USA. Truly horrendous.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

🚨🚨 @coe.int of Europe said yesterday that the #US formally notified it that it would leave the Group of States against Corruption, or #GRECO. Only two other countries have left GRECO before — #Russia and #Belarus. The fall of the #US on the world scene is striking. apnews.com/article/trum...

apnews.comUS withdraws from European anti-corruption panel in latest shift away from global groupsThe Trump administration has withdrawn the United States from a top European anti-corruption watchdog.

Perhaps someone will listen now. This can affect children as well as adults.

Here's today's column on the astonishing, ongoing mistreatment of people with #ME/CFS. Please spread it far and wide: the only thing which can break the media's wall of indifference is seeing an article about the issue go viral. Thank you. 1/2 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

If the White House Press Corps does anything but boycott all White House events going forward, it's a spectacular act of institutional cowardice. You don't give a *single inch* to fascists—and that means standing together rather than treating fascism as someone else's problem.

All day Piddington's womminfolk have been telling news how they will be terrified of "hundreds of young men nearby, free to come and go as they please." NOT ONE JOURNALIST has asked: "How did you cope when it was an army base? Who came and went then? Nuns?" Soon as you ask that, all becomes clear.

Alex Andreou@sturdyalex.bsky.social

The people of Piddington have spoken. I say, grant them independence. Border controls. Visas to cross into the UK. Tariffs on goods. No GBP. No NHS. No benefits or pensions. Let us know when your little lilywhite enclave has gone all Mad Max and you started eating each other. BUH-BYE!

Please do remind me again how a few brown people in dinghies is the biggest threat facing this country

I just think that risking your life at a moment's notice to save people you've never met in exchange for no money is a better expression of patriotism than dressing up like a Poundshop paramilitary and intimidating families with kids trying to get onto a ferry.

I want the Prime Minister to look into a TV camera and say the RNLI are heroes, that we do not change policy by street violence in this country, and that he expects any criminal action to face the full force of the law. That's it. That's all he has to do.

In her Reform conference speech, Suella Braverman said that under a Reform government, schoolchildren will be obliged to sing the national anthem and “our great hymns”. I cannot imagine that this anything but a net vote loser.

There's an argument for calling them masked thugs, because that is factually true. There's an argument for calling them pathetic cosplaying loser incels, also true, and laughing at them damages their tough-guy self image and hurts recruitment. There is no argument for calling them protesters.

And as with Jason Arday, you can see the problem here. Because a handful of gatekeepers decide what is ‘news’ & what isn’t. This is a stunning investigation but if & how it catches fire depends on the follow-up…& Times & Telegraph are embarrassed & implicated. So much now depends on the BBC…

If early release can be altered so as to exempt homicide offences, it should be. Prisoners who have caused the gravest harm should be among the last to benefit from the overcrowding crisis. But carving out exceptions for individual prisoners in response to media campaigns is weak and unprincipled.

I believe Clacton deserves an MP who will spend their time shining a light on everything the area has to offer. And why wait till I'm elected? I've been to visit one of the constituency's most stunning landmarks.

The plan treats Gaza as vacant beachfront property. It is not vacant. It is cleared. There is a difference between vacant land and cleared land. The plan doesn't acknowledge it. Neither does Burnham.

Watching Trump try to get into the World Cup photo, then shuffle off because no-one was paying attention to him, was the perfect ending to this evening.

Why oh why do we shoot ourselves in the foot on repeat. The media are of course a big part of why. No one is ever going to be perfect.

And finally: Balogun himself. Why did he not make a statement and say that he would not play the match? Why did he play at all? The team lost every form of sympathy at the very latest when they failed to show any kind of protest on the pitch either.

And who found it completely okay to even let Balogun play from the start. Then the players, who quite obviously either did not protest internally in the first place, or did not mean their protest seriously, because: Balogun was allowed to play.

True integrity is shown through the actions someone takes. The team failed on several levels at once: First, the coach, who considered it completely okay — as he also expressed in an interview — that FIFA lifted the red card suspension at Trump’s request.
