Philly stuff. Outdoorsy stuff. Artsy stuff. Maybe a LOT of xc skiing stuff on winter weekends? I'm as confused as you are.

Anyone who's a "never-Trumper" in 2026, by definition, has spent 10 years in the wilderness, finding common cause with their ideological adversaries in the service of democracy (or, in some cases, reexamining their priors and changing their mind!) I fail to see how this kind of performative BS helps

my default position is i do not ever trust "never trump" republicans. i support the people who were always in opposition, not the johnny come latelys. this almost always means liberals, the center left, and leftists. right wingers like what trump stands for, they just dont like to hear it out loud.

Clearly, a "popular front" setup demands that a lot of grievances vanish while the emergency is still ongoing. Which means that creating spaces where socialists, liberal Zionists, former Republicans, and resistance wine moms can organize together successfully is super important.

That having been said, I'd feel much better charging into battle with Bill Kristol - pages and pages of red in his ledger though there be - than with Chuck Schumer or Hakeem Jeffries. At least one of them is clear on abolishing ICE.

Just stunning mismanagement of the public commons through both the short-term and long-term lens. Blecch.

A single bridge closing in a park shouldn't result in an 8.1 mile pedestrian / bike detour to cross a river. This is the result of the city & state removing from the park sidewalks, trails, and staircases that previously existed connecting to the alternative Strawberry Mansion Bridge.

Furious that Chris Nolan would disregard historical accuracy in adapting The Odyssey by making a "movie" with "cameras" instead of memorizing the entire story and then going on a nationwide tour to sing it to us while tripping on ergotized barley

God, the analogy is so clear from this. Hegseth is Trump's dog. He will be aggressive on behalf of his owner in situations that don't need aggression. He will bark at the government workers trying to help. He'll do unnecessary physical activities to prove that he's a good boy.

Me: The Democrats' obsession with finding a working-class whisperer has led to a bunch of gimmick campaigns which wasted a ton of money and attention on hopeless races. Why do this again? Me, after watching one (1) Graham Platner video:

Algae is back in the Reflecting Pool, days after Trump celebrated his cleanup project, the intrepid @maurajudkis.bsky.social reports, w a little help from me. (Trump officials say it’s residual.)

Imagine someone has unfathomable talent and brighter-than-the-sun charisma. Now imagine that they spent 99% of their time using those traits to make other people feel loved and special. That was Dito.

A cofounder of the Pig Iron Theatre Company, he ran the Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret band which, for 15 years, performed monthly at L’Étage in Queen Village.

Ossoff is 900% better at Obama karaoke than Josh Shapiro. (All kidding aside, we could do a lot worse than this.)

Ossoff: This is what small men like Donald Trump and JD Vance and Stephen Miller will never understand—that our national greatness flows not through our blood or our genes, but through our ideas.

the most demented part about trumps posts is that he signs them as if we don’t see his face and name at the beginning. it’s like your crazy aunt on facebook that would randomly comment on one of your pics from 5 years ago, “missed you at easter but your dead mom loves you. love, aunt nance.”

Absolutely electric atmosphere in positively Scottish weather in Lake Placid for Jessie Diggins's final World Cup race, a 20k skate. She takes a risk in traffic on the last lap, falls, winds up 12th. Stuff happens. We'll be lucky to see her like again.

The level of sheer, unadulterated Waylon Smithers Energy coming from Johnson here is something to behold.

TRUMP: We had one who was very ill. Looked like he wasn't going to make it. You want to mention his name? MIKE JOHNSON: Neal Dunn of Florida had real health challenges T: His diagnosis was he'd be dead by June J: Ok, that wasn't public. *audience groans* It was grim is what I was going to say
