One year ago today, Danielle Smith and the UCP stripped 51,000 teachers of their fundamental human rights. We’ve heard that the problems they were fighting to fix — underfunding, overcrowding and a lack of support for complexity — have not improved.

Gregory reposted

One year ago, Danielle Smith used the notwithstanding clause to stomp on the rights of teachers by sending them back to work. Promises were made to teachers but nothing has changed for the learning environments for students. We can’t keep letting the UCP continue to hurt education in Alberta.

We’ve been demanding a public inquiry for over a year. Danielle Smith and the UCP keep refusing. Why? What are they afraid a public inquiry might uncover?

Instead of focusing on things that could actually unite Albertans—like improving health care, education, and affordability—Danielle Smith has decided to double down on division and anger.

Why didn't Danielle Smith and Rajan Sawhney attend the First Ministers meeting with First Nations? According to Sawhney, it would have been "impossible" for them to attend yesterday and make it back for today's legislative session. October 26th... The day when no planes flew.

So that’s why she’s not actually helping Alberta families with health care, affordability, education or creating good jobs... Danielle Smith is wasting our time and money on the wrong priorities.

Quick reminder: As of right now, the result of the election is locked in. Politicians don't "pull ahead" or "catch up." It's just the arbitrary way that the ballots are counted and reported.

For four years, Danielle Smith & the UCP have focused on everything but what Albertans actually want & need. But fresh off the Premier’s pricey referendum where Albertans largely told her no, suddenly the UCP say they care about healthcare & lowering your cost of living. Don’t be fooled. #abpoli

The UCP might make Edmonton pay up to $170M to rip out its own bike lanes. I've heard reports that the UCP has been asking for costs of full network removals. City numbers put that at $150-170M This is the same gov't that just spent $130M on a glorified opinion poll.

Very keen to hear Mickey Amery explain how the hiring of his cousin Sam Mraiche's nephews would square with this DEI policy, and for Danielle Smith to explain what experience Michaela Frey, who stepped aside to give her a seat in Brooks, had to be hired in the premier's office as a policy advisor.

We don’t grow a big variety of crops on our farm. Mostly barley and canola and a little corn. Occasionally we grow a field of oats. But I’ve heard that if you plant flax and chickpeas together, both crops benefit and the chickpeas mature fast enough for our area. It would be really fun to try.

Immigrants use fewer expensive benefits. They're already fully educated, and are 12 years younger than average Canadians. New Canadian immigrants average about 30 years old vs. 42.1 years for all Canadians. The points system rewards immigrants with above average skills and education.
